This is new after I returned from a trip last week where I used my laptop rather than my desktop which is the most frequently used device. The only solution I have to this sort of problem is to clear cache and cookies and try a different browser to see if can work. I tried clearing its cache, cookies and site preferences to no avail as Google Search still requires me to log in. I will continue to work it. Each browser is different so you'll need to "settings" on each one. Chrome does has "reset" which seems to do the same thing.
