IMG20221214115749.thumb.jpg.27cd51cd939790f38f95248f6b0b6fe2.jpgHello

My name is Ray and i am recently retired ( 2 years now)

Started building balsa planes as a kid, underresourced with very limited tools and finances.

Restarted my building with Guyllows planes .

When in the hobby shop i saw a wooden ship kit and it looked very interesting.

I bought it and at first struggled with the hull.

I persisted and found the ships to be more tolerable to mistakes and corrections.

I have now built a 1940s Pinnace. The Independence 1775.

The Royal yacht Mary and the Yacht America.

Two still to be finished.

I have just ordered a Polish paper/ wood kit .

I hope to be able to increase my skills by observing and learning from some of the master builders on this site.

I dont build for extremely fine detail or scale but for fun and relaxation.

Cheers .

Ray

The models look great.   Welcome to MSW.   Do feel free to start a build log for your project.   It's great way to get help and meet others.

Welcome aboard! Sounds like you got your hands on a Shipyard kit. We have a small group of enthusiastic card modelers lurking about here. I built Shipyard's Wuetender Hund wood kit a couple of years ago.
