Scottish Maid by JesseLee - FINISHED - Artesania Latina - 1:50

Ouch at 95 degrees- here in the Cumbria we usually have it fairly moderate- though we did get a couple of winters with -20 centigrade. Our summers normally peak at about 22 degrees centigrade for a couple of weeks- rest of time its cool and raing and raining and......

Great to see you got your new thread from Chuck, Jesse. I can assure you that it's a delight to work with. I might suggest you remove that first picture (package with your address) though as it contains more of your personal details than you should be comfortable with......

When I got my new thread in I didn't want to leave what little rigging I had already done on the bowsprit with the old stuff. I cut it all off & started over with the new. Much better looking rigging now.

Thanks everyone. My hand has pretty much healed other than some normal pain from being cut & some weakness that can be dealt with by using it.

I'm glad to see you were able to upgrade to Syren rope Jesse. Its really nice to work with and your work deserves the best.

So when do they attack the other hands Carpal Tunnels? One of Tammy's Doc's has/is developing a new device the works with ultrasound. Her C.T. is pretty bad and he experimented on her and it made a huge improvement. Best part is that there was no recovery time due to it not being as invasive. No telling how long until its widely available though.

Hope the Lymes not kicking you around like it is me. These cold weather fronts seem to make the spirocetes mad as heck though.

Yes real thread huge difference!

Keith, we've started to get bills in for the first one & realized we have to wait a while for the second one because of the cost. Don't know how long it will be now.

Tell me about it.  But I have a choice pay the deductable or the full amount.  The butchers bill for one month in the isolation ward is more than my yearly salary when I was working.  That does not include the meds test, etc!  I will make a plan to pay the deductable :(

Keith, my sister has a friend with Lyme Disease and said he went to a specialist in South Dakota and it has been in remission ever since.  Have either of you heard about this clinic or is my sister mistaken?

I've heard so many stories, and believe few.

Remission is possible I believe if high bacteria density is not achieved. Sadly this can happen very fast, maybe as short as 30 days post bite if not treated.

My experience is that it will always seem to return, usually as one of the alphabet soup auto immune disease. A Dr McDonald found 70% of brain tissue from Alzhiemer patients tested positive for Lyme DNA. That's a hard fact to avoid. McDonald also discovered transfection, which is Borrealis DNA genes spliced into the human hosts cellular DNA. That's and even scarier finding and not the scariest. Borrealis is one smart bug.

I've know many that are bitten and take the wrong antibiotics, which basically is a cell wall destroyer. Basically the Beta Lactam ABX, Amoxicillin is a huge problem and I can't believe that many LLMD's still use it. Spirocete's are pleomorphic and one of there forms is the cell wall deficient form. So the antibiotic basically turns the acute form into a chronic form which could lay dormant for decades, just waiting for an immune system glitch to rear its ugly head.

I've read more peer reviewed journal articles on this disease then probably all 44 MD's I've seen combine and the way I see it is this parasite is unstoppable once it is disseminated. I'm not saying there aren't treatments that help. I've decided to finish building the Rife and see how well 800 watts of low frequency radiation works on the little buggers. My exercise in the flowers has been inducing a huge dieoff reaction as the exercise activates the immune system. The problem is with someone like us, killing all the bacteria in us at once would kill us from toxic overload and they reproduce faster then they can be killed.

Talk to your sis though, I'd be interested in what treatment method they used.

When I was going for my cell extraction I remember meeting many poor souls and it made me want to weep. A couple at the hospital whose 8th old son was diagnosed with leukemia and had maybe 6 months left. A woman staying at the Hope Lodge who has been battling a form of cancer that literally dissolves the bones and tissue. My heart goes out to them and I wish I could help them.

Hi Jesse

Your rigging is looking great. Chuck's rope is a real tempter but I already have too much Morope to abandon it - bugger! The re-worked bowsprit rigging is a testament to your commitment. Well done for doing it again. Kia kaha.

Cheers

Alistair

Been away from the shipyard the last few days. Helping some friends out. Stayed at their house with their 3 kids while they were at the hospital having their 4th one! Got to be one of the first few people to hold her. So precious!

Rigged the bowsprit bobstay then jumped over to some yards. My plans didn't show jackstays on the yards but I decided to put them anyway. Made my wire eyes. Drilled holes, glued them in & added jackstays. I will take the liberty to add some other things like stuns'l booms as well.

Hi, your rigging work is coming along very well indeed. I'm also happy to hear that your hand is mending well. Oddly enough, my Brother (in California) went in Yesterday for an op on his hand. I think it was to free up his pinky! Lyme Disease is really scary we have it here in Portugal, and with a goodly tick Population - due to this being sheep country with a good side order of wild European Boar, ticks are a problem. There's also Leishmaniasis, carried by Sand Flies. The latter is more of a problem for the dogs, but people get it too and it's nasty. The joys of a warm climate, I guess. I must say, though, that I'm very thankful to live in a country with Socialised Medicine. One less burden.

BTW, loved the shot of of you with your friends new 'un.

Still working on the yards some. Added some cleats & rigging the footropes & stirrups. Seizing is difficult & slow with all this nerve damage but I always seem to find a way to get it done. I did find this fabric glue made for sewing. It is clear & thin like water. It soaks in the thread & holds the seizing well  & dries perfectly clear. Almost done with the foreyard. Still need to add a few more blocks & then move on to the other yards.

Wow, Jesse, those yards look amazing. Beautiful work. This is the first I've seen Fray Check.

I found it at Wal Mart in the sewing section. Not sure if it is a strong permanent hold or not- haven't had it long enough to tell. Like I said it soaks in & holds seizing well. I noticed if I messed up the seizing it wasn't too hard to pull it back apart right afterwards. I will test it under stress & see how well it holds after longer periods of drying. If it doesn't hold when pulled tight I will hit those spots with watered down PVA glue. I hope I wont have to. I will be updating how it holds as the rigging progresses.

Great work!  Those yards are incredible.  I have seen fray check used before.  Some one in my local club uses it a lot and really likes it.  I've thought about getting a bottle and trying it out on my mini ratlines.

Was trimming extra off a stirrup on the lower fore topsail yard & I accidently cut the footrope! I didn't want to have to re-rig the footrope so I thought I'd see if I could spice things back together. I had an extra piece of line left from tying a stirrup off right next to the cut. I separated the strands , cut half out from each side so it wouldn't be twice as thick.  Did some twisting around, some glue, then seized a single strand around it all to finish it up. I didn't expect this to work but it actually did!
