I used bent eyebolts, but some of them look too much like bent eyebolts. You will be glad that you made the rings. I can't remember, I either used the 9lb or the 18lb guns (scale 1:64), whichever were closer to the dimensions in Chuck's plan. Actually one of them fitted the dimensions quite well. But you may also look at the gun barrels which you can get from Chuck (see Dirk Dubz's build log). They probably are an even better fit. I am still debating whether I ultimately switch to them myself . . . Before using the cleats provided by the kit I cleaned them up, added pins, and reduced the size of their feet (image 1).
