What an amazing level of workmanship  - really first class.

OC.

Thank you for the great compliment.
I am really very proud of my victory and my past performance.
But first class ... there are other model builders like Alexandru. What they do takes my breath away. I'm far away from that.
But I am very happy about your words !!!

Was it  Alexandru  who  created that early version of  Vic?   you sir have crated a masterpiece  of here more  frequent and most known  ship.

Thank you.

Hello, I just discovered this forum. I am in awe of the detailed, methodical, and accurate nature of your work. What is the status of this ship model? Tks, Joseph Ford of Boca Raton, Florida.

Hello Joseph Ford, sorry, I just saw your question.
Unfortunately I don't understand it. What do you mean by "status of this ship model"? Of course it is still under construction. And unfortunately there is no end in sight, as the following work is new territory for me. I have never rigged a model. And I'm having trouble understanding the plans. So it will take me a lot of time ...

Did I answered your question?

Thanks for your compliment! You´re welcome!

Hi

great work looks amazing.

can I ask you were you got your rigging drawings. I have some but they are not very good and I’m finding hard to get it right

thanks

Hi Dean,

Thank you for your kind compliment.

My rigging drawing? I work with the Jotika kit (Caldercraft). All plans are included here. I just use different materials to build my Victory. That's all!

Thank you! All is well!!

It´s just a matter of time.

I found a nice woman. She is from Thailand. We plan to move to Thailand sometime when we are financially independent. Until then, I'll try to learn the language and have signed up for a language school.
It is very difficult and takes a lot of time. But that's life...
I will take some actual photos of my Victory afterwards. Then you see that unfortunately not very much progress ...

Best

Hello friends!

Time for a new update and some new pictures I have made today.

I have a few free days and started with the main mast. As you know, I don't use the wood from the model kit, but only my own wood. As always, my first attempt failed, so I had to start again. I also hat to tie the net twice. Now the lower section is done and I am quite happy with the result!

At least I took a new picture of the rear of my victory, using the "portrait-function" on my iPhone. I like it 🙂

Best to all of you and a happy pre-christmas-time!!!

I have always been fascinated by the ships of this period and especially the Victory, I have made the journey several times to tour her. It would be my greatest joy to attempt the build, but alas I came to this hobby far too late in my life and I am not sure if I have enough years remaining to complete this great venture. Now I will restrict my pleasure to dreaming of what might have been and reading the great logs of the fantastic builds of this ultimate model.

You are never too old to venture into this hobby!  I have a good friend over on FSM who is 90 years old and builds some of the most impressive models I have ever seen.  It is a real pleasure to see his works, especially his newer models.  If you are tempted to build this model, go for it!

Heinz,

Your English is much better than my German!  And, you are doing an exceptional job with the Victory.  Given that I have a goal to purchase this kit, that goal is still far off from reality.

Thank you very much, Bill!!!

Hello dear friends!

Not really an update - more the chance to wish you all the best for the coming year. It was crazy! Hopefully next year everything will be back to normal soon!

As you can see, I started shrouding the main mast over Christmas. Of course I ran out of yarn on the last shroud. Now I have to order new one first.

I started building my Victory 7 years ago in December 2013. That's why I always get a little nostalgic during the Christmas season. Also today I looked back and found a photo that was taken yesterday 7 years ago.

I never thought that I'm working on this model for so long (I admit, there were breaks in this time...) . But it's still fun like the first day!

I wish you the best for the next year!!!

Hello my friends!

I have seen so many nice pictures and progress by all of you, that I decided to make an update for myself.

In the meantime, I began with the mizzen mast.

Of course, the same work as on the other two masts. But still the opportunity to post a few new photos.

I wish you all a great weekend!!!

Heinz

Hi Heinz,

I re-read your log for so many times and I'm still impressed with what I see.

A Victory without colors and it looks great!

It's nice to see that some builders are follow there own schedule.

You have make the inner bulwark first before you go to the second planking.

I'm just starting the second planking and when I,m below the gunports maybe I will do the same and work upwards instead of downwards.

Hello Sjors,
thank you very much for the kind words. I am honored!
I am curious how you will find your way. Please don't forget that I don't have a lot of experience. I think about something and try to implement my ideas.
I admit that I am enthusiastic about my own result and very proud of it. But a lot of it was also luck and the way there is definitely not always the best :-).

I will follow your work now !!!

Best to you

Heinz
