  1. I look forward to following your build. I missed out on getting the Maine kit as BlueJacket only made 100 of them. I did manage to get the limited edition Olympia kit. I have not worked up enough nerve to tackle that kit.
  2. Congratulations on finishing this beautiful model. I have enjoyed following your build log.
  3. Hi Shaun and welcome to Model Ship World. We are glad to have you aboard.

  5. Welcome to Model Ship World BMT. You have picked some nice kits to start your journey in wooden ship modeling.
  6. Hi RH and welcome to Model Ship World. It sounds like you have a love for the old sailing ships and their history. The research can be an important part of building a good scale model. We are glad to have you as a member if this forum.
  7. Hi Gill and welcome to Model Ship World. You have picked a good kit to get started in wooden ship modeling. We are here to answer any question that you may have.
  8. Congratulations Toni on finishing this beautiful model. I have enjoyed following your build log.
  9. Hi J and welcome to Model Ship World. Chris has given you good advice. You mention that you have no prior experience, so you definitely need good instructions to guide you through your build. I would also start out with a simple kit to get use to building a wooden kit. You can download the instructions of many of Vanguard's kits by going to this website: https://vanguardmodels.co.uk/ Good luck on whatever kit you should decide to build.
  10. Hi Jake and welcome to Model Ship World. We have many Victory build logs on this site. Here is a link to all of them that have been tagged: https://modelshipworld.com/tags/Victory/
  11. Hi Giuseppe and welcome to Model Ship World. I hope you find the plans to the Fram. It looks like this would be a nice model.
  12. I use IrfanView to resize my photos to 1600 x 1200 pixels. Sometimes I will resize to 1200 x 900 if the photo does not have much detail in it.
  13. Congratulations Jonathan on completing your Nisha. It is a good looking model.
  14. The 5/32" mark on the planking fan is drawn to reference where the tick marks would be for a plank that is 5/32" wide. It also looks like you will need only 11 planks on bulkhead 1 based on your last picture. The two planks at the keel look like they will terminate at the stem (bow) before they reach bulkhead 1.
  15. Jerry, To add additional content to an existing post, you would use the edit function in your post. This can be found by clicking your cursor over the three dots in the upper right hand corner of the post next to the post number and selecting the edit function. It would probably be better to add to your topic by replying to your post. This keeps a post from getting too long to read, which may turn off some of your viewers.
  16. Hi Chestcutter and welcome to Model Ship World. The Vanguard builds into a very nice model. I hope you post pictures of your model for all of us to see.

  22. I use a pair of toe nail clippers that I purchased from Walmart.
