  1. I watched the video today and it was excellent. It should be required watching for those that are new to owning a miniature table saw. Well presented. Thank You.
  2. Michael, Thanks for the comment. I have been following your Medway build and you are doing a really nice job on building it. It is nice to see the progress you are making on this fine kit. Joe, I appreciate your comment. My goal is to finish my 1:48 scale 18th Century Longboat. I would like to have it finished so as to display at the Northeast Joint Clubs Conference on April 30th in New London, CT. I have found the smaller scale kit more difficult to build than the Medway Longboat from Syren Ship Model Company.
  3. Congratulations on finishing this model. You should be proud of this build. I have seen many Philadelphia Gunboat models over the years and yours is just as nice as those that I have seen.
  4. Wonderful work. I really like your detailed build log with all of the research. I cannot wait to see more.
  5. Hi Reece and welcome to Model Ship World. I had a look at your build log and you did an excellent job on building your Dory. You are off to a good start in this hobby.
  6. Ron, Could it be John Earl's website: http://www.modelboatyard.com/stropping.html
  7. Nice save on the replacement plank. I had to make several new planks for my Medway as I had messed them up in trying to fit them to the hull. You will place this learning experience in your brain for future builds.
  8. Congratulations on finishing this model. I really like the way you weathered this model. You do excellent work.
  9. Hi Andrew and welcome to Model Ship World. It looks like you did a lot of research in selecting the Polaris for your first wooden ship model. We are glad to have you aboard.
  10. Congratulations on completing your Pram. You did a good job on building this model and your build log will be an inspiration for other builders of this model.
  11. Hi Steve and welcome to Model Ship World. I think you will find the Model Shipways Shipwright series a good introduction into wooden ship model building. There are a lot of excellent build logs of the models in this series here on MSW. The members and staff are here to support you in your builds.
  12. I used Tamiya Masking Tape. I painted the first two top planks on the inside. The good thing is the risers for the thwarts hide the line between the painted and unpainted portion of the planks.
  13. Welcome to Model Ship World Babyluca. I have moved your topic to an appropriate forum for your question. You will probably get more answers to your question in this forum. Please introduce yourself in the new member forum so that we can get to know you.
  14. Congratulations on finishing your first wooden ship model. The boat looks great and thanks for sharing your progress with us. Also, welcome to Model Ship World.
  15. I used Minwax Wood Filler in a tube that was natural in color to fill small cracks. It matched the color of the Yellow Cedar very well. I also used the wood filler to seal up some joints throughout the model that were painted over. You are making good progress and your workmanship is excellent.
  16. This is an great kit for the first time wooden ship modeler. There are some excellent build logs of this kit that you can reference for your build. I look forward to following your progress.
