  1. I was asking about the echant, Mark. The vinegar is good right out of the bottle. The liver of sulfur has a very specific formula; the Birchwood-Casey does not.
  2. LED, welcome aboard. That's quite the resource for Vallejo paints. Looking forward to see how your build turns out.
  3. Waiting to see how your sheathing turns out. We have real barns around here roofed with that stuff and they develop lots of character with the galvanized metal rusting out. You've got a great start with the etching.
  4. Mark me up for this one, Dan. I'm reading a novel right now, on my Kindle, about Tiffies supporting the invasion - Fighter Fury by Russell Sullman.
  5. What's your dilution ratio? 1 to 1, 1 to 2 etchant to distilled water. I use distilled water because our tap water or well water has impurities that can affect the liquid we're diluting.
  6. Very nice work with the pendant lights. That's a tip worth copying for spreading out your lighting effects. Thanks.😀
  7. Eric, maybe you could get a super-fine paint brush and dab some rust on the more egregious chips. It will add a little more color to the Cairo.
  8. Rob, that's a vast improvement to the basic plastic superstructure. The shot damage would have been a 16" shell with a hardened nose cap penetrating the armor, but as mentioned that was a short range, point blank test shot. We still use the technique for some aerial bombs, putting a nose cap on and fuzing it with a tail fuze only Of course, there are other methods of penetrating thick armor, but I can't cover them here.
  9. Great job, Grant The weathering is outstanding and those doors are super. 👍 One trick/tip for the stacks is to glue a piece of wood under the hole, let it dry and then drill a hole the size of the part peg into thru the roof. Make sure it's not visible from outside.
  10. Looks like the Paasche gives you 3 different tips. Acrylics need the bigger nozzle than enamels and lacquers. The Micro-mark probably has a medium tip, and if you spray acrylics, you'll be cussing the tool. Can you get a larger tip from Micro-Mark?
  11. Looks like a camera under a light below the silencer equipped barrel. Note a screen above the trigger guard. This one sees around corners.
  12. I'd expect some nasty barrel wear with frequent replacement of said barrel. 😀
  13. Pretty sleek looking beast. All those prongs - sensor mounts? Designer had a heckuva imagination. Love it.
  14. Very well done, Patrick. I appreciate your adding details to these 1/72 scale kits, since I work in 1/87 scale primarily.
  15. I moved on from those programs around high school, mid 1960s. Still like good sci-fi movies, but stuff like Space Battleship Yamato and the Gundams was way too kid-like. I'll still follow along for the pearls you pop out in this blog.
  16. Eric, it's a sad state of affairs when you get a kit with so many issues. I admire your stick-to-it-tive-ness.
  17. I remember the cattle ranch around Avon Park Gunnery Range. They roamed at will and once we got a cow running threw the tactics area. The Range Control Officer yelled himself hoarse trying to keep our guys from releasing any ordnance. Unfortunately, the cow took a hit and Uncle Sam bought a cow that was KBA -killed by air..We were pretty bummed by that.
  18. usually the gunner was protecting the coach and occupants. Rifles were unwieldy. How often did they get pursued across salt flats by the native tribes? It's just Hollywood's version of history. And J.W' first starring vehicles. I'm a fan of old JW.
