1966 Buick Riviera by CDW - FINISHED - AMT - 1:25 Scale

Wow, they're about perfect tires. Very nice, especially for their kits. -
Sorry, Eric. I was just replying to KeithAug's comment. This was a Railroad Prototype Modelers gathering in Cocoa Beach, FL.Annual get-together, so it was like old home week, seeing buddies you only see once a year, along with guys seen more frequently. And having several good seafood restaurants doesn't hurt for this seafood fan.

1966 Buick Riviera by CDW - FINISHED - AMT - 1:25 Scale

I'm in, Craig. The Riviera was a beast. It looked fast.😄 -
Scenery is definitely an art. We have a few guys here who can dazzle with it. Our ice storm never happened, but we did get 4 inches of rain yesterday. And some passing thunderstorms. The pasture across the road from me was a lake and washed out some of the farm driveway that cuts thru it. The French Beoad by me is usally75-100' wide. Today it's a half a mile wide.😨 Luckily not a lot of wind damage; the wind can blow the pine-trees over and spray stray branches around.

Your superstructure will be looking sharp, Brian. 👍 I think many of the international modeling organizations consider these laser cut parts as scratch built if you design the files for the laser cutter, such as what Brian did. Having machine cut pieces isn't an issue; who designed the parts is the key. I attended a convention over the weekend for model railroaders and they had a session on these laser cutters. Safety was stressed about fumes, ventilation and what not to cut, like the acrylics wefalck mentions.

Bryan, I'm too young (Baby Boomer), but I had family involved. Pretty hard to capture the emotional stories of air combat on film. A few good ones like Battle of Britain, Dunkirk, 12 o'clock High, Tora Tora Tora. I hope this new streaming video on USAAF daylight bombing gets done right. I did similar stuff, at night, in North Viet Nam, supporting the B-52s over Hanoi.

A stair stepping would look better, like your last picture. You're looking for a nice waterfall in a stream, not Niagara Falls. 😄

Nice work. 👍 I had a '68 Dodge Charger that I said very similar things about. Had a large hole in the gas tank, draining into the engine.😉

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
