    First of all good luck on your build. You can use whatever you want after all you are the captain of this build. I like the pear better, and as Daniel and Pete said you can use the pear for the keel and stem and the beech for planking I think is the best choice. The beech is not that bad because the look of it is like "small" scale oak (the wood used on a real ships).

    I'm not sure about this wood, I think is a Linden wood, is hardwood and is yellow. You can see from the picture below.

    Thank you Guy for your estimation I hope l start with planking soon. For now I'm working on preparing the hull for it. I'm on a fairing and soon I will start on framing the stern and gun ports. I post some pictures soon I hope because I didn't know that this is the most time consuming job.
