The IMAI Winston Churchill is 1:75 scale. I saw an IMAI Cutty Sark on Ebay today, the asking price is $427.50 plus postage from Japan. Looks like a super beautiful kit.

Awesome kit! I have the IMAI version of the Winston Churchill. I believe it's now produced by Woody Joe as the look very similar/identical maybe.

You will likely give me inspiration to finish my Essex once you start this one. I have looked at my poor neglected Essex many times and thought I should finish her. Maybe now's the time.

My older brother was my war hero when I grew up. Here, he was doing a tour in Korea, 1963. As you can see, he was always the ladies man and found himself a sweetheart in Korea. When he returned, the Army formed the 1st Cavalry Air Mobile and he was sent directly to Vietnam in 1965/66. It was hell and that's putting it mildly. Search and destroy was no joke.

When I was a young man, I had the pleasure to be close friends with a couple of men who flew/crewed bombers in WW2. One was a tail gunner on B-17's in Europe. He was shot down twice, the first time being rescued by French and returned to service, the second time wound up in a German POW camp for the remainder of the war. The other fellow was our pastor who piloted a B-24, aslo in Europe. Very interesting men.

I do believe you got hit with a swarm of love bugs, not lady bugs. At least that's what it looks like to me. Either way, thank god and the preacher they didn't swarm your boat and only danced on your test piece. 😄 I don't blame you brother, that would have made me cuss, too.

They can do this because they have crushed any viable competition. Yes, I know there are other operating system possibilities out there, but the masses are not computer engineers.

Outstanding work, one of the best I've ever seen. Hope to see more of your work in the future.

There are some issues (again) with Microsoft automatic patch updates. It's a real pain in the rear. Seems like this happens all the time with Microsoft updates no matter what version.

My son in law says they built one of these LCS ships in New Hampshire as well.

Sharp! Do you plan to run it when you're finished or just sell it? That interior color was popular for that type of boat from what I have seen in photos. I wonder if there were other color options and what those might have been. I am betting I will see some of these old Chris Craft boats when we move to New Hampshire. Boating on those big lakes up in the mountains is very a very popular activity.

Denis PM me with your mailing address. I will send you some photo etch rigging loops appropriate for your ship scale. They are out of stock right now from the manufacturer in the Czech Republic, but I have more than I need. These are what you need for that rigging to terminate.

I've been paring down the inventory in anticipation of a move to the north country in the not-too-distant future. It's not practical trying to take too many things with us when we move.

And it's moving so slowly...very unsettling for east coasters.

It always leaves me feeling a little "empty" hoping these storms will miss me and go somewhere else, knowing full well wherever it goes (sans playing out in the ocean) will cause poor souls misery. But alas, it now looks like we will be spared a direct hit in Florida. I've lived to see the devastation these things leave behind in my lifetime, and it gets a little more intense each year as population density increases.

Hey Mike You got your hatches all buttoned up and ready for this cyclone? Traffic and shoppers are nutz around here in Tampa right now. I am thinking this storm is eventually going to go up the east coast, maybe off shore. That's the European Model and in my experience, it's been a better model in the past years.

Hey that lambskin will make a nice addition to your model. Will look sharp for that era of boat.

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
