    I agree with Eamon on this. I have always had problems doing a clinker hull not enough patience. Job well done. PS do not trust Irishmen or Iowans on a nice model you might not get it back David B

    I use Pay Pal as well. However they are linked to my Credit Card. I am leary about linking them to my Bank account. I am just a little paranoid with all that is going on out there. Jeff is a great guy to do business with. Besides at a guild conference I asked him about the above mentioned and he said the cost and overhead. Plus he likes to do business on trusting his clientele at all times. They trust him to do the right thing and visa versa. If more businesses did things this way we would all be happier. The Hobby Mill is the cats meow as far as I am concerned. Satisfied client, David B

    Great website. However I am fortunately the owner of a Preac saw. Unfortunately the owner Charlie Files passed away. He was a fun guy to be around and his saw was mainly used by dollhouse makers and the like. For the mini or micro cuts I use the Preac. My reason is size. and I do not like changing blades. Plus since I have both I use both all the time. David B

    Glad to hear you are okay Jack. If your keel stem is round waht about making up a test piece and round it ou then apply the veneer? This way you can see what the results will be without damaging anything. By the way your photo makes a great wallpaper. My sister likes it on her Mac as well. David B

    I have the same problem. However since I moved in with my sister I went out and bought a Galaxy Tab 3.8. It is perfect for reading. The battery life is not the same as a kindle but it is more versital. As for my library at home I have to learn to control myself. It is not easy at times though. David B

    Very few mfgrs of kits ad the heads. it could be cultural or they never thought about it. In fact in most kits you will find them omitted and most people will never notice. David B

    There is a philosopy I have followed for years. And it has been reinforced when I go to Manitowoc and talk with the modelers. No one way is perfect for everybody. They all have a way of building that is easier and more convenient for them. David B

    Cap't Steve, I like the way your bounty is shaping up. A while back I posted a photo I took of one version. That is what makes this model so interesting. It is a typical launch from that era. You are only limited by your imagination. Go for the top and you might attain the rank of rear admiral of the fleet. David B

    Nenad I think you have too many books you are starting to ramble. I have the same problem. I bought an ereader because of my current condition I cannot bring a lot from my library. However my prize possesions have to be felt and opened. Those I miss the most. David B

    Other than Model Expo I generally do not waster my time sending them anything and take care of the problem myself. As for the channels you should pin them. Once properly located drill some holes and put in some wire I nromally use brass rod that I have lying around. I then place it against the hull where I want it and then drill foor the rod. A drop of epoxy and the job is done. Once fully rigged those channels are going nowhere. David b

    The gentleman and I along with several others brought this model and case into the contest in Manitowoc and we had to go through the service and supply exit. David B

    Mamoli's model of the Royal Louis is based on the 1780 build of the French 1st rate. However as I wrote above a friend of mine built it years ago and found many errors in the kit. There were several 1rst rates of this vessel. He said that the Mamoli version carried aspects of all of them. It makes into a nice and impressive model out of the box and makes a good model to build on if you wish to do some research. David B
