  1. and welcome to MSW
  2. I think I think maybe it's because of the shared heritage between the British and American culture that it's marketed as Tudor or Elizabethan as that is what was the main building style in the UK at that time and perhaps some of the first migrants to "New England" took the style with them. Also when looking at medieval architecture in europe it seems most old world countries used similar techniques, if the wood was available as in the 14th century bricks were an expensive building material. Other villagers may be able to add extra information 🙂
  3. Very Nice job Craig, your cabinet is beginning to look like a very upmarket exclusive automobile showroom 😉
  4. At home today because of the rain, so thought I would make the bowsprit. Using my cordless drill and sandpaper I have got a basic shape also painted the windlass supports and the skylight body still got to make the ratchet and the bowsprit bits, which I'm thinking of putting the pal for the windlass on. Thanks to the encouraging comments and the likes. Cheers 😉
  5. The stables of my granddaughters riding school let you take bags of the stuff for free if you do the bagging.
  6. I never won with the Goblins but always had fun losing 😊. I think though that I enjoyed painting as much as gaming.
  7. Rooting around in the loft looking for a certain book I came across these figures, they are a few of two Warhammer armies I used to game with many years ago. Just thought some might be interested 😉 They've all been painted with Citadel acrylics
  8. I've searched and found redskin peanuts but not Spanish ones but they are red, quite pricey though, at lowest £5 per KG going up to £15 per KG
  9. We have Planters but not those particular nuts Also dry roasted and honey roasted but no Redskin Spanish peanuts
  10. Fantastic detail, I agree with OC it's far more than a model!!
  11. You got a great sheen on the paint work, personally I think the yellow is fantastic 🙂
  12. I'd say go for it OC, I've gone and got one of my daughters getting me one, very similar to Lou's approximately £40 from Amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B07H85JQJ7/ref=psdcmw_3063725031_t1_B018LOO8YA#
  13. Read and re-read this series, but my copy of brig of war is falling apart due to much handling.
  14. Thanks Tim, no jigs at all just freehand with sandpaper and files.😁 Thank you very much.😁
  15. I'm with you two on the peanut brittle 😋 and I'm quite partial to honey roasted peanuts. Are you sticking with the walnut planking or using a substitute? Nice job on that planking, it's always pleasing to get that done.
  16. Kind of you to say so, Glenn. The deck furnishings continue, albeit slowly, tonight I've roughed together the main mast bits. sanding is still required. I'm using some scrap AYC and still cannot get over how nice it is to work with. Thanks for looking in ang hitting the button. Cheers 😄
  17. What a blast from the past! I loved doing these as a kid, mainly cos of the larger scale as the others were 1:72. But I never did them this good, a brilliant rendition of an Old Guard Grenadier, jct
  18. Some good looking work there Glenn. I particularly like the companion which looks as fine as a Syren mini kit 🙂
  19. Hi again, so I did my homework and found the post on how to turn a square stick into an octagonal one, and after several abysmal and downright awful attempts, (scrap bin was well fed with this little project) I've got one that is acceptable. I'm still making the cap end pieces and have still got to make the ratchet part . also need to add the details like the holes for the levers. Thanks for the likes and visiting👍 Cheers 😉
  20. You could make a decent wage doing that on some the housing sites I've been on😆 Looking good, gets better with every post, nice job👍
  21. Another very fine model Denis 😁 You certainly do, do justice to this type of plane!
  22. Nice work Jack! It looks suspiciously like it's from above, hmmm popcorn, Lou in the rafters, just sayin'
