  1. Pat, Your fellow members, and you did a wonderful job. I especially like the funnel, and the davits. Concerning your question on the eyes: I would glue them with CA gel as it will stick to a somewhat larger area (fill in the gaps) than the liquid type. I do not see another suggestion to attach them presently, as soldering would be the stronger solution, but as you wrote, is impossible. Cheers
  2. I like the bulkheads, something I missed in the Tamiya kit, especially since that(Musashi/Yamato) is a big sucker
  3. Ed, I would expect the distance between the guides to depend on the size/width of the wood you use, or do you use the jig shown for all sizes you have on your models
  4. Jason, A "ketelbinkie" is a ship's boy, used for all kind of odd jobs, aged between 12 and 17 (probably younger too). It seems Sjors has miraculously found the fountain of youth ... Cheers mate, enjoy the trip to your holiday's destination, and have fun, and relax
  5. You've been fiddling rather successfully Nenad. A boat, with all the fittings/furnishings well made. Up to the next
  6. Quite clear, Ed. Thank you very much. Fortunately the meaning of spare is merely based on contex ...
  7. Ed, Forgive me my ignorance, but you are working on the (flying) jibboom - lovely work on it, and very educational - which is also refered to as bowsprit, and you call it the spar. It's getting a bit confusing ... In Dutch a "spar" is a yard, which makes it even more difficult to apprehend
  8. Fortunately we are merely human, Ed. Which means we not just get a second, but sometimes also a third chance. Very fine work.
  9. Lovely half hulls, Frank. I enjoyed the look of them, and the stories.
  10. 1/700 a you went for the real size any PE during that time ... or "what's in the box, 's-all you get"
  11. HA, I knew it, you are getting predictable!!! Love the choice of ship, Greg. I'll be enjoying this one: A carier battleship or a battlecruiser, magnificent "I would like to do an Aircraft Carrier and I like all the underlying lattice of beams, but you pay a lot of money for a flat top." You should buy a model kit, not the real thing ... Are you getting mean, ... start to look like a Dutchman, am I rubbing off on you ... How about a 1/700? Same finance for the aftermarket?
  12. Hairspray might work, lacquer could work but is mainly ease in dust maintenance, normaly you would use something like diluted glue to keep the form of cloth/tissue
  13. Cunning ... yes, but now he destabilised his ship and needs to move his ballast around I should have known this method when I was working with paper. Darn good!
  14. So I'm not to far off battlecruiser or aircraft battleship ... very interesting those hybrids. Don't know this Bergerud chap, but I'll have a look if my poor mind is able to digest his cooking ...
  15. You can't leave those things up to others! You should know. You really tickle my curiosity ... I hate that nagging feeling ... is it IJN Ise ... or up to another country's navy
  16. Thought you a bit quiet Mr Bunny. I like the way she develops further into the battleship she should be. Even stanchions, or the railing are worth taking a picture from. It's another step in her completion, how tiny it may be!
  17. Greg, I'm only missing the video's but another masterclass on building plastic with PE. She looks good next to her giant sistah. Again an impressive, astonishing, and unexpected fast build! Grab a beer and enjoy the view. You can send me the bill for the beer "Um, finished. I really don't think I can add anymore detail." Hmmm, you could add the crew ... but that would be a rather minor detail, and she would be put aside from the rest of your "home" fleet You tought yourself airbrushing quite quickly too, and seem very much at easy with your airbrush on this second model. <ovation>
  18. You can run a 32bit program on a 64bit machine. It just doesn't use the available resources optimal. You should run a mixed system on a 64bit machine. That way you can use your old, and newer programs. You should take into account that even a lot of so called 64bit programs do not use the possiilities of the machine to the max. Furthermore, if you have a multi core procesor, your memory should be large enough too. Often a mere 8gb is used but that is minimal for a 64bit system. Check what your motherbord and cpu combination can handle.
