    Thanks for your concerns gents, and your support(!) it is well appreciated Sam, I bought meself 3 detail up sets, Pontos, Fly Hawk, and Eduard. Now I can have some of the tiny parts jump around like fleas without me worrying about loosing a piece Mick, Maybe you should come over - jump the creek - and have a go at smoothing out my bench ... You can do it in the garage,. dinner included, just let me know your preferences - I know a few persons whom would like to trade places ... How's moving, and settling in going?

    Started priming some of the parts, they're drying now, dropped one which I can sand and repaint, fortunately not the tower ... or some of it's parts. So before getting all ... you know what, I cleaned my airbrush, and made myself a log bench from a piece of cherry ... Needs some smoothing, but we can sit, and I can ponder on my multitude of building erros

    Thanks gents. Mark, Sometimes I think it is to darn small for me too. Especially when the parts jump from between my tweezers ... The most horrible part is that you seem to overlook a lot of parts when you have something like a tower the size of this battleship type. On the other hand it keeps you sharp ... at least if you don't mess up ...

    I have to check the PE install sheets again, but I hope the tower is ready to prime ... Radar dry fitted ... Tripod aerial mast, one more to go, a tad smaller ...

    That has been quite an undertaking. I agree with Druxey and Russ, but for the sake of reality ... I might use a white wash so I could still see the wood. Still you do what you must do. By the way, love the yawl boat Cheers

    I would expect the wide one to be thicker too as a rub rails. When I look at it, I 'd expect it would tear off easily when moving against the dock (up- and downward with the waves ...) Thanks

    Very nice job on the case, Mike. I would take a contrasting colour to set the ship off. I think walnut will be to dark for the room where you will put it up. Your case might be very visible because of a dark colour. You have enough wood to put on top of the base and have a look at the influence a colour has both on the model and the surrounding area Say hello to the missus and Daria. Hope they are doing well Cheers

    Dan, I could use a few on my plastic build ... very meticulous work on that searchlight. Suddenly you are going fast with the super structure ... looking good. I added some glue on the rungs/steps of the ladders on my build, they tended to break of when I touched them again by accident - may be for a next time ....

    Doesn't look like a rubrail, mor like a "side walk" Why would they mount a narrow, and a wide rub rail ...? The logic eludes me ...

    Jason, What I see in the image you posted, and what I can find on the net, e.g. here and here , it seems it is not going "round the bend" but remains on the stern facia. It looks ike it is a somewhat massive carving piece. I hope you find a fitting answer to your problem though. Cheers
