  1. I presume it should be, else it would be thrashing around in heavy weather, injuring sailors working above deck ...
  2. You can't mean that, Igor. It can't be true, you must be having a giant match stick and blow up fingers ... 2.5mm Do you really want to make double and tripple blocks at the planned smaller size ...?
  3. Dan, I still wonder about the size, I know Igor uses a giant match stick, and Patrick a hughe watch, but I can't seem to get a hold on your build. Must be quite big to get the details so spiffy! The bridge brushed up rather well I would say even at 100% Cheers
  4. Nice details again Greg. It seems you coudn't sit still anyway ... that "subtraction" doesn't seem to bother you a bit! Appreicate your urge to update Take care now Cheers mate
  5. 20 cm and they take orders for your models I've got to get downunder ... Hope you are doing fine, Greg, and as Mr Bunny wrote: "Don't over do anything and get plenty of rest." We are used to waiting ... although somehow I never get used to it! Take care mate! Cheers Carl
  6. Ever sat in restaurant with only booths??? Frank, A very nice find. Very slick. Julie, You have your chiselin' cut out for you I'm gonna like this, I'll just sit back and relax, and watch her chiseliness create a piece of art
  7. This one I certainly don't want to miss!! After your initial post on Shore Leave, I was waiting for your build log to start. Looking good Kevin.
  8. No mill nearby which can do the initial cutting. It seems to me a bit of a waste to plan 1/3 of the thickness ...
  9. "Testing colors ... I just realized that all of my acrylic paints are just hardened ... " Unlike gouache, or water colours acrylic doesn't disolve again in water ... what a waste
  10. I would suggest to use the same method as for the single blocks Jan does have a point though. You still haven't said what is wrong ... although, your top mast is a bit short, and a yard is missing below the top mast, as far as I could distinguish on a picture
  11. Igor, Usually we see our errors (to) late. Fortunately you know how to correct them! I like your blocks. So easy to handle
  12. Odd, I heard contrary ... besides, what I've seen so far, alhough small, looks pretty intimidating!
  13. I know a pretty decent boat builder, and interior decorater in Oz ... you might give him a try ... if I recall well his first name is Patrick
  14. Mike, The best way to avoid warping is to quarter saw the wood. A disadvantage of this method, you won't make optimal use of the width of the timber, however, that is of lesser import when you consider the sizes needed for modelbuilding
  15. "but, I can't guarantee that their work is always good" I know, I have the same experience ... Enjoy your weekend
  16. what's your data usage? that will be a limitation besides the usual storage
  17. Nice work, Jan. Didn't know this gallery, although I've seen quite a few of them. Looks easiy to setup too
  18. Very impressive Jesse. I wouldn't be able to duplicate that even if I had to! Marvelous
  19. " I'll post some pics in a week or two after I have some of those things completed." You really do know how to tie us to your build log, Clare!
