Nice update, missed the weekend posts ... sanding between paint coats ... that would have been hard in those small recesses, doable, but hard. You still can though ... I think I wouldn't mind seeing the second grow like the first one. Such wonderful details ...

Sam, Those wooden decks ... I do love the way they look. The close up shows a slight colour difference, but it doesn't distract from the rest. Nice progress, you seem to be able to give some form to those rice grains ... must have been hard to paint them an even grey ... Cheers

Mike, You make her shine!!! She might be even more attractive with some inner light. Your doors fit well with the colour scheme. Keep in mind that if it is plywood you want to soak, it will not stand the bending. Even just soaking may have serious consequences. The layers will come undone, and the wood will swell ...

you could take off the giant covered bathtub at the back of the central cabin ... (2nd image, near the top) that would give some considerable space, ... besides a bucket full of water or under the pump would do it for a sailor ... at least, that's what the books tell us ...

I could imagine he extracts the faux-ports, slides the rear of, slides the front of and slides one or more middle segments of, and puts them together over the keel again, creating a perfect hull, just some sanding let to do ...

From where I'm sitting your admiral needs a pair of specs ... but you know how it is. Light, pictures, colours differ under different circumstances ... I wouldn't like to get on her bad side though ... To me it looks particularly good! The funnel is a nifty one. I have to admit the Japanese were always good in improving existing things. One of their strong points I might add ... Cheers

Looks good, even a fat man can sit in your fabulous constructed heads. You shouldn't make it to comfi, or your crew won't get out It is also known as WC, toilet, sesspit, or whatever other name is called the space where you dump the content of your bowles, or bladder ...

Mike made a good suggestion, I would like to add, that usually use an object like a pencil, as coin sizes are not known by everybody who read your log. Well done

That looks like one slick hull ... built for smooth sailin' ... well done. Maybe the gold/copper layer will atdd to the smooth displacement of water and a leisurly passage ...

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
