  1. A sister to my previous G-class, build from the same box, with a few adjustments to hull and deckstructures. I'll be using some 3D printed parts to replace the original kit ones as well. The box ... not so much different as the other, both derivates from Trumper's Eskimo kit ... (just print another box's cover and you're done ) Colour scheme will be either Athabaskan or Iroquois
  2. I've been cleaning desk ... saw it had a wooden top haven't seen that in year (tells you sumink about my cleaning skills ... So next victim ...H class distroyer, next build log
  3. Thanks 'arry, good to see you come out of your lurking habbit ;) Saw you've got some of that modelling mojo back ... so get to it mate
  4. Thank you Steven, not half as brilliant as your dromond with it's rubber "yard garters". Much appreciated though. Glad to have been of service. Maybe I will try my hand at a diorama in 1/700 from her final heroic moments, that would be a real challenge ... first a few more 1/350 builds, and then I would like to start on the Arno XI, it has been boxed far to long
  5. digital compressor ... to get rid of the afore mentioned dust ... good to see you at the shop again
  6. You could bring her over, and take some shots here near the pond ... currently we have dry periods with infrequent short moments of percipitation ... besides that, I can see her "in the wood" ...
  7. Dan, I've enjoyed your build tremendously (still do), mostly catching up, so a some what late response. In my plastic builds, I came across 3D printed parts at 1/350 and even smaller highly detailed, which could be a solution to your dilemma of the blocks, maybe even other miniscule items ...
  8. I would say: "Plenty space" 2cm would do fine too ... as long as they won't crash their scul ...
  9. I would suggest a trolley, or get your trailer in and pull her out
  10. She already was looking like a fine vessel, Steven. She's getting finer, and finer looking though. For head room ... it depends on the entrance/exit points of the oars, compared to the relative hight of men during that time, which was something like a smallish Italian I would gether - taking the region in consideration to - and luxury was not an issue, only the captain had that if there was any aboard ...
  11. Smashing, mate. I especially like the blue in the camouflage, makes her come a live, not just another dull grey beast on a picture. I see you whipped out your 3mm drill bit, stanchions and thread ... must be thrilled to bits when that comes up.
  12. Not to shabby vossy. You might get her in some daylight with a somewhat more uniform colour background. That would improve your image considerably ... She looks pritty, so far a job well done. Fortunately we are our own worst critics ...which keeps us on our toes
  13. Thanks Lou, I hope you don't mind to much what I did to her ... Now I need to learn how to finish her when painting by hand, OC, thank you Good to have you at the finish though, Jason, glad you like her in her battered state Ken, much appreciated, I am curious as to how you will fair with the SMS Seydlitz ... That's a lot of praise from our creative source ... next depends I can start on HMCS Huron, or transform that kit to HMCS Athabaskan (I like her camouflage better). However, there are some changes to be made to her furniture, which, after this, shouldn't be to much of a problem, and there is the 3' monster to continue with ... we'll see. First cleaning the deck, I had to much lazy sailors aboard for cleaning
  14. oldfashioned is the word I think ... but I would go for historical I would go for the B&W not the sepia, it looses to much detail
  15. Carley floats done, straps done, signal nr done ... being in the artistic mode ... B&W Water colour Hope to have some natural light tomorrow, but chances are forcast is a misprediction as often is the case ........
  16. Thanks all for the likes and the positive feed back, it keeps the spirits up and the going less tough I'll try to get those numbers on at the sides, Yesterday eve after studying the rust streaks etc, I perceived it to be possible without to much fuss, and some elbow grease ... so the speck of light is growing to lamp size ... good to have some additional light sources to work with, else I would be in the dark ... I wonder how she might have turned out if I really had to ...
  17. Always been a glutton for PE branding ... or just masochistic tendency extrapolated to modelbuilding? I just do not see the advantage of having rungs running up your forhead ... the doors, and hatches ... now that's practical for brain surgery ... Love them guns, Scott. Even without the rungs they will turn out magical, so with them ...
  18. Because, Lou, that is the story of our lives ... Sorry Sam, for hijacking your thread
