  1. Nice interior. I presume you use plastic for the cushions e.a. have you ever tried milliput or another one of those putties to make you cushions? You can shape them a lot easier ... just a thought which came up when I saw those "pillow rows" ... Cheers
  2. I think Pat meant those plastic garden vegetable covers, like this: but instead of half round, squarish. You only need a plank, two or three pieces if metal wire and clear plastic
  3. Dull down the wooden deck ... more like coffee it up! I wouldn't be spraying coffee all over it, but get some different shades of pastels from light wood to dark and work that in with a hard bristled brush with a straight end instead of pointed, and work it in gradually. I bought an "artists" set of pastels (12 colours), and used those on the G class destroyer's decks. On a wooden deck I would have to get a few additional colours, as sets are quite limited with respect to a modeller's needs. those tri-coloured barrels look marvelous on that dark blue turret
  4. Getting crowded on the deck ... if it would be much higher, it could be a Japanese pagoda like superstructure!! Looks good. You don't drill the portholes?
  5. Those are the metal stanchions from Tamiya? You really pick a nice sizable object for that kind of work ... to keep your fingers in shape and pretty much flexible? ... she does look good, even without those pesky posts ... but "a man's gotta do, what a man's gotta do" ... I think I'll stay in the whimp corner ... I am better suited for that ... messed up the hull of the big one the day before Yesterday ... since humidity has risen and temperatures dropped, paint dries slowly ... I had some lovely runners ... back to stage one ... sanding/priming/sanding/priming/..., so I am of by miles when it comes to stanchions ...
  6. nearly forgot ... multi coloured barrels on the turrets turned out rather nice mate cheers
  7. nice collection of mummies Pat. Those lashings turned out nice an' tight
  8. I'll wat for Wednesday .. but keep in mind you do not start to look like popeye, and try to keep several builds in the air at one time ... 9I'm guilty meself too) Not to shabby those railings Those really give a finishing touch now you are nearing completion ...
  9. certainly worth the wait Kees. If all your next updates are like this we are in for a promising ride
  10. If B&W are taken properly, it enhances the items in the image. Colour tends to distract from the content. Taking a good colour picture is relatively easy, compared to taking a good B&W ... without software manipulation, like improving contrast, richness, texture ... that is a lot harder
  11. Should have seen his Dreadnaught, or the Yamato, to him this is fairly straight forward ... to us mere mortals ...
  12. OC, less hard liquor :) 'arry, ain't that Aussie clever :D Jack, must 'ave been an 'ickup at the server. Can get it now. Sorry old boy, unfortunately not much of interest for me to build in that list
  13. Thanks Jack, but I can't get to the History of the Irsih Navy - seems to be non existent - or they don't like Dutch ... (or just me  ) The ship ... I just find modern ships ugly, squarish, and lacking any form but for CAD and the D should read "development" instead of "design" as design has something of creativity in it ... so ... not much chance of an Irish build there ...
  14. It's been a while since I had my last smile .. Good to have you back at the workbench
  15. Got me there mate. That's why I'm not native Irish :D just DD :P So tell me then, laddy, what destroyer (class) or cruiser was part of the Irish naval forces from 1918 to 1945. Might give her a go ...
  16. I wondered whom would start about it, you or Ken ... Scotland, Ireland and Wales are part of the RBN anyway so that was an easy one All in one
  17. I know, but not in my ship's collection! So far I'm limited to R(B)N, RAN, and am working on RCN, after that RNZN, Scotland and Wales Dealing to much with DP&H?
