  1. You could ask Jan (Amateur), he's quite knowledgable on Dutch ships
  2. you have to stay sharp LH, there is to much happening on this magnificent log
  3. Johann, Do you have a seperate blade for this purpose, or do you use the blade for wood also? How many teeth per 1" ... Cheers
  4. Less beer, less games, less Murphy, I would suggest, but the first is impossible, the second necessary, and the third inherent to the previous two, so you'll be stuck with the way you work my friend ... you keep on muddling through (try and try again), and still have a way to create some lovely looking parts, which I would dream of making ... instead I just rip open a plastic bag and pull out a sprue with all detailed plastic thingies ... give yerself a break laddy, yer doin' fine
  5. That's what I use. The only problem is the "halfeye" fills up quite quickly so you need to burn it out with a lighter, but it works rather well That explains your calm demeanor If only you could only reach them from downunder ...
  6. Nice try, Lou, though I don't buy it. You are obviously an animal lover, and you won't lay the blame on them 😛 Although, you are still to blame in the end, since you didn't raise them responsibly
  7. As Mark wrote, what's left to be seen ... you might as well paint them. Besides, why did you paint the former PE parts ... as you airbrush them, the detail won't be lost, but spray them first darkish than add lighter layers from above to get more depth For Musashi 1/350 I've got the guns in black, after that I'll go to washes of lighter grey, and airbrush from above so the lower/underside of the parts seem to be in the shade
  8. That's why we see so little advancement ,,, SIghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ........... and there flutters another piece of PE Dennis, those large scale builders have no idea what challenge(s) you are up to
  9. as promised (got it from a polish site in 2016, can't find it anymore though)
  10. You are right, even getting married cost you a whole heap of time!!! When it comes to cleaning, women are silly ... never understood why to clean up my bench, as it will be a mess the moment I'm back at it ... Hope your PC didn't get Murphy on a visit
  11. You might want to get EZ line, which is an elastic thread used on models, if you put it on streched, you won't get those sagging lines
  12. Thanks Gaetan. Not much difference with the Dutch version
  13. You've got quite some parts to build it up, mine were not so finely detailed ... though they were a lot smaller too
  14. that wasn't Murphy ... he comes after the first one, twice! You should keep your mind on the work at hand, not that lovely lady you married!
  15. Dennis, the PE primer I use with a brush too comes from Tamiya. Works rather well, like the rattle cans I use for larger surfaces or a lot of parts to be primed at once
