  1. Incredible work. You are very courageous and patient. Your hull will be THE reference. Yves
  2. No wonder, I was fooled and tricked. Yves
  3. That is gorgeous. Incredible of realism..... I would think that the wooden box underneath would be sagging more under the load.... Yves
  4. My feeling is that these moving pistons and crankshaft are more for the pleasure of the builder than anything else. It is a little wink to the mechanically inclined and is a legacy of most Protar kits which had some kind of moving parts. Protar in the good old days, produced a Moto Guzzi V7 (1/6 scale) that had all kinds of working features, including the engine, gearbox and transmission as well as some electrical features. Yves
  5. That plated and painted hull is incredibly realistic Nils. Beautiful model so far. Yves
  6. Kevin, you did a fantastic job with the freeze. Congratulations. I also like the fact that you used a deeper blue (possibly Outremer...) for your base color. I did the same with my Bellona and I really like the strong contrast it offers. It feels more powerful and more in line with a fully armed vessel, than the pale and washed blue we see on other models. Just my two cents.... Yves
  7. Nils, What a great model you put together. I really love these Sweedish boats and wish Billing Boats could re-issue the Bohuslan and the Hjejlen in 1/48-1/50 scales. I am sure they would have a lot of success on the market place. Yves
  8. Great idea. I love that presentation as it reminds me of the half-hull presentation for boats and ships. Yves
  9. Excellent choice of model. It will be interesting to follow your progress. Yves
  10. Kevin, You need to find another way to present and picture your beautiful models. The trash bin does not do them justice 😉 Yves
  11. Nils, this is beautiful. Are you using one of these spoke wheels to emboss the rivets? Once painted, this is going to look terrific. On a side note, my brother dug out an old unfinished kit of the Billing Boats Hjejlen (spelling is probably incorrect) and I showed him your thread related to that boat. He is very excited and may finish it like you did. Yves
  12. How about using the so called silk paper used to wrap gifts or fill up gift bags? Once painted, it should be quite realistic. Yves
  13. I like the lack of symmetry of that ship. It makes it very interesting. Yves
  14. The new tubing makes an incredible difference. Well done. Yves
  15. That is looking really sharp. My favorite camo scheme, for sure. Yves
  16. Renault and Alpine have resurrected the famous and original A110: Above is a 2023 model, for $91,000. Yves
  17. I love that you try the black and white stripes camouflage. It is very well done. Yves
  18. Great job Kevin. It is coming along nicely and will be very swell once you fix that aftermost piece of moldings. Yves
  19. Rob, thank you for listing all the colors and types of paint you are using. This will be very helpful for future builders of this model. Yves
  20. Allan, nothing revolutionary here... Just assembly lines, a la Henry Ford. I will give more details and pictures once I get to the other side. Yves
