The final update! This is the end of the build of the 'Le Mirage' by Corel. I know that there are a few mistakes here and there, but that is ok and I have learned from it. She gave me a lot of problems and at some point I wanted to quit. But thanks to the individual support of Anja, Mobbsie, Augie and all of you who followed me on this journey, she is now finished and ready for her maiden voyage. Again I want to thank you all for your invaluable support, friendship, feedback, good words and likes you give me along the way. I will now continue my build of the ' San Ildefonso' and I hope to see you there to accompany me.

Hi Rich, The things you are using is called I believe a cable shoe. We use them to nail a cable on the wall or at the floor. You find a nice other way to use them. Like the idea !

Hi Grant, No, I have not take Mobbsie's mojo. I find it myself.... I just want to finished her, that's it. But thanks for the kind words.

Thank you all..... @ Mick, Read the answer of Adriaan. It's the Le mirage where I can not found any information on the Internet. @ Ferit, Glad to see you again. How are you? Holidays are over and can we see a little bit more of your amazing work ?
-
Hi Sherry, Thanks. The bowsprit is for me also a learning thing. We will see where it ends.....

Thanks Sam, When Le Mirage is finished, I go further on the San Ildefonso and on the first of January I will start at the Agamemnon. She's under my workbench at the moment. I don't know if that crows nest on the bow a period construction detail is. Maybe someone else knows it. And don't forget, maybe it's not a real ship. I can found nothing at all on the internet about her.
-
Thanks Mick, I'm a long way from being good but I'm learning.... I have take a look at your plans and I don't see any problem. The only thing that I want to say to you is this. When you are attaching the lanyards, don't tie them off yet till you finished the rigging. There is a little stretch in the rope and make your lanyards looser. When they are still loose, you can tie them up a little.
-
Hi Lawrence, Thank you. I just want to finish her and go on with the San Ildefonso. Mobbsie has made me a serving machine and I can not wait to use that. I make a trial piece and it work just excellent ! One day you are also at that stage and will do a great job ! @ Thanks Graig !

The fore mast is also done with all the 3 yards and the running rigging of the whole model...... Now I can go to the bowsprit and do some more ratlines. Then the last rigging .

Hi Mike, Thanks ! When you paint the hull is that means also the inner planking and all that stuff? So not only the hull but all the wood parts. You seal the hull first with....Polyurethane ( have to look how you wrote it ) When I buy the Aggy, I also have bought the Admiralty paint. It was cheaper to do it together then alone the Aggy. I hope I can start on her at the first of January. I'm looking forward to it!

Hi Mike, I didn't know that those beams are calling skits.... Learn something again ! Are you using Admiralty paint ? I have the Aggy in a box under my workbench and I want to start building at the first of January. I try to catch as much information what I can and following all the aggy logs on this and other forums. If my Aggy turns out half as good as yours I'm a happy camper !

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
