Hi guys, Sorry for the late replay but I had a long day of work today.... A broken shift of 12 hours totally ! I'm happy that I was yesterday free of work. I talk to my collega's and it was not fun to drive with a bus yesterday. But everybody survive and all the busses are in one piece. The San Ildefonso is back on the shelf because I need a serving machine. Mobbsie has make one for me and I'll have to wait till he brings it to me ( in about 3 weeks ) So back to the Mirage . I have done nothing so no update. But when I can go on with her, it should be making the yards and place them. This weekend no duty so maybe a little progress..... But that's not a promise !!!!!!!!

Thanks Lawrence, When I start building at the Aggy now, I think it's gonna to much ! I have to finish one of the others or I have 2 unfinished ships and Anja don't like that. And you know, she is the boss in the house....( at least, that is what she is thinking )
-

Hi Kimberly, You did a good job on your Jolly Roger. She looks great. I hate to say it, but for the next build, look more carefully how to place the masts. Your mizzen mast tops ( mast on the left close to the stern ) should be the other way around......

@ Jim, Thank you @ Robbyn, Why should I take that as an insult? It's the true! We are learning form our mistakes, that's why we do more then one build. You want to improve your self all the time. I think that the Syren and the Aggy singing the same song @ Andy, Sorry that I was using your name for something that Augie was saying. But just what Augie said, all North American sounds the same No worries with the ping pong bat. The vases are under the table and I only use cotton balls I bought Anja once flowers a year of 8 ago and the whole day she looks suspicious at me why I give her flowers........ That was the last time. @ Frank, Thank you ! A avatar is just like clothes...you have to change them now and then. I only have drivers uniform....is that counting? @ Popeye, When you go to the forrest, find a tree with flowers on it. cut of a piece WITH the flowers, place it in the mast and there you are. Yards with flowers ! Now I have to go to work ,so have a good weekend all !

@ Patrick, Thanks. Yes she is big ! I have to be careful now when i turn her around. I have to clear the table......and If I want to do something at the topgallant , I place her on the ground @ Mobbsie, Also thanks. Yes the Mirage is a good example how not to do it And when there is progress, picture will follow ! @ Augie, The spars are still dowels and in the box. First i want to finished all the other stuff before I make the spars.... @ Andy, I shall explain it for you again.... The spare wood is in the vase....not the spars ! And I have no piano in the house, only a ping pong bat ! And no, there are no flowers in the vase.( Don't give Anja any ideas....) @ Robbyn, Thank you ! I didn't know that my previous builds are that bad But I know what you mean and thank you for that Any news on the Syren? Oops, i did it again...... @ Sam, I'm happy that you also understand what Dave is telling us Then your question....I have not seizing any rope yet. Mobbsie has make a seizing machine for me and he takes it when he is coming in November. Then I shall give that seizing a try ! I'll keep you posted on that ! And I love busses ! When i was a kid, I always want to be a bus driver.... For me ,it's not work driving that big thing but fun. It's playing with it in the crowd traffic in Rotterdam ! And when I have the change to sit in an old one, I have to do that ! When I see all the luxury that I have these days, I was a hard time for those guys in the old days...... @ Popeye, Thanks also ! And what is going happened one of those days...... You gonna build also a big one ?????? I think you do that one all the credit that she deserved ! Let me reserve a front seat all ready ! @ Wayne, Also thanks !!!!! It's just like the first steps of a young child... Every other step goes better @ Mick, You are further then me. I have not make any spar of yard ! I wait with those till the rigging ( shrouds, ratlines, back and main stays ) are finished. Then I gonna make the spars/yards. The mast also not glued. I will keep them straight with the shrouds, then I can play a little with the tension of the lanyards. Enjoy your evening out with the music of the sixties Send from my I-mac Still at home !

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
