  1. Yes Augie, It's another avatar. This is also in a bus but then at Portsmouth when we are there with Mobbsie and Grant And also a little update. The bowsprit has shaped. And dry fit on it. Now it is time to put all the blocks and violin blocks, deadeyes and all that stuff on it. Also placed the figure head. And the last picture of the whole ship with everything on it ( dry fit )
  2. Hi Lawrence, I have two builds going on at the moment. The Agamemnon is still in the box under the workbench. And she stay there till I finished one of the other two.
  3. Augie, Maybe a silly question but do you have to cut out the gun ports out of that beam ???????? You need a chainsaw for that..... Or do I understand things not correctly.
  4. If anyone is interested in the Principe de Austurias, here is a link where you can found her : http://www.victoryshipmodels.com And when you are there, take a look at Trafalgar fleet !!!!!
  5. @ Sam, they are thinking that a high ceiling brings the heat and cold up..... But in the summer it is still hot in the house ( flat roof ) and in the winter it is still cold when I don't use the central heater..... But it give me space with the masts..... When I'm at the rigging stage of the top gallant mast, I have to put her on the floor And what you are saying at the other lines is for me Chinees....Sorry. And I mean from the part OSHA ! @ Demonborger, I have seen the Principe De Austurias but i don't no where anymore . It's a lovely ship and I keep a close eye on that one. I hope they bring it also out in the open !
  6. Yesterday evening I was talking with Mobbsie and he tells me that I have to take a look at Cornwall Model boats Aspecially by OcCre. And I can not believe what I see........The San Ildefonso for sale ....... I thought I have something special but not anymore. I think OcCre see the light somewhere. So if anyone wants to build her, now you can do it.
  7. Rich, Can I send some rain to you ???????? We have enough of that !!!!! With you it dry's to quick, here it takes ages That's almost a ritual to bend the planks ! But it works, and that is the most important thing.
  8. Hi Popeye, That with the pinrails is exactly what Anja has to do with her half Moon. When she is at home from work, I shall tel her about it 2 same ships and such different. On het Half Moon , she have to glue on the handrail on brackets and you are putting them on the ribs. Nice difference...
  9. That looks very good Sherry, Can I order a dozen ? And look out with that scalpel....it is sharp !
  10. Nice cabin Adriaan ! Is there a bed inside ????? Or is it not your spare room......
  11. Popeye, You are so wrong about the number..... Augie is living at Cave 16 PM is on his way with pictures And yes, we have a spare room. Don't come at 16 november because Mobbsie and his Admiral are coming for a few days. After that you are more then welcome We have coffee with CAKE for you and Smarties for your Admiral ( 2 pounds bag ) @ Kevin, I shall not ignore you but I don't no if I come to the plastic stuff....... I'll shall take a look now and then.
  12. @ Augie, You are even more bad then I'am I shall ask Mobbsie if he can use the Ferry as a tugboat for the Aggy ! @ Popeye, Now everyone knows where we live and everybody is coming for coffee !!!!!! And of course they want cake ! And you are forgetting MSW @ Paul, Thanks, I know how work can be in the way. But no problem ...nice that you are dropping in
  13. Welcome home and permission tot come on board Thank you so much for the things that you have showing us in Europe from you country ! The only thing is….I want to see it in real life ! It's great that you meet people ,a specially that Dutch guy I don't know if he told you that, but Piet was almost our neighbour ( not possible because we where not born when he lives in Vlaardingen )but oke. His father works just around the corner where we live. Next year the other side of the USA and then a year later Europe????????? You can meet then also great builders like Anja and Mobbsie ( and me ) And now back to the warf and do some building ! Your vacation was long enough !
  14. That looks cool Bob ! I hope you use a electric drill and not a hand drill ? Great job !
  15. Very nice Frederica, But what else can I except from you ? If you want to plank a big ship, I'll send my Aggy in the future to you Or bring it myself….
  16. You make everything at one I see…. I don't do that. I finish first all the lower part of the masts with all the holes and blocks. Then I do the shrouds and ratlines. After that I go to the next part of the mast and finish that. Then I make the yards and spars. When I do that all together I think that I not know where everything goes anymore or I place the wrong yards at the wrong place…. And on the drawings I mark all the things I have done with a yellow marker. So I can see if everything is there and don't forget things. It's funny to see that everyone has his own way of building. But you have to do what works for you !
  17. I give her already a helping hand Popeye….. She is at work and I have the late shift so, I place the first beams for the hand rail…… But there is a different between your Half Moon and her. She got separate beams with the plank on that and you extending the beams ?
  18. @ Adrieke, We are inviting people over…. When ever you are in the neighbourhood, you are more then welcome ! You should be not the first one. Mobbsie and his Admiral are coming for a few days in November….so please after that when you want to come @ Augie, Still one room available That's a idea , to build the Victory on scale 1:24…. But I think I have to remove Anja to the bathroom….I need then all the space ! @ Ben, Thank you Yes, in the future ( couple of weeks ) again ratlines I don't mind that at all. Almost like it ! @ Pygothian, Do the same what i did. I give my wife ( Anja ) a kit of her own and now she's also a builder…. So we share the room now ( I have a little bit more space ) And now we are using one of the room as shipyard, we can leave everything as it is and walk away without first cleaning the room. When you are building in the living room, you have to clear things up every time when you stopped with the build. And what about the sawdust and smell of glue and paint ? Tell your wife that that is the reason that you need a room of your own @ Dave, Give one of the kids a cabin in the garden and tell her/him that she/he has to live of her/his own Then you have a room of your own !
  19. Hi Jason, I can magnify the pictures and when I do that, I don't believe that you are shaping and painting that wood. I think it comes strait out of the box, painted and all ! Unbelievable neat and shapely …….
