  1. Beautiful piece of miniature engineering on that steam engine, Gerhard. John
  2. Beautiful technique and an elegant hull, Druxey! John
  3. Heck, what do you want it to look like, Michael? That looks pretty darn good to me! John
  4. She's really coming along, mate! Can't wait for the next episode. John
  5. Thanks very much for the good wishes, Mobbsle. I'll certainly pass on your regards to Pam. John
  6. Thank you for your kind comments, one and all. Pam managed to fall and break her arm, but it's well and truly on the mend now. I had a scare with cancer, but am also on the mend. My urologist advises that it will be an ongoing nuisance, but not life threatening. Sorry there was no model maker at the museum when you visited, Keith. I had to miss a few days recently. John
  7. It seems forever since I last updated the log. Things have been pretty hectic around here plus both Pam and I have had a few health issues which have slowed things down considerably. Thankfully I'm now able to get back into the workshop. All the spars have now been made but, as can be seen in the photos below, not yet detailed. The jaws of the mizzen boom and gaff have now been finished off, so the next job on the spars will be to get some bands made, which means I'm really going to have to haul out the soldering gear soon or I'll run out of things to do on the model for lack of metal fittings. I still have the dunny to make plus the windlass is only half done, so maybe I can put off the soldering just a little longer. PS: I actually enjoy soldering once I get started, but it seems to take me a heck of a long time just to get the equipment organised. John
  8. Just catching up, Pat. Good looking soldering setup, but isn't resistance soldering a tad expensive? John
  9. Coming along beautifully, Michael. Like Druxey, I can't wait to see the finished deck. John
  10. Been away for a couple of days, mate. She's really coming along! John
  11. That planking is looking very nice indeed! John
