Try running this search as it shows build logs and questions about this model. Some related to rigging. https://modelshipworld.com/search/?q=occre corsair&quick=1 Also, give some thought to doing a build log of your own. A short intro to bring it up to date and then carry on. It's a great way to get help and also meet other builders.

Well, the bar serves a dual purpose. That's my excuse and I'm sticking with it. Thanks Gregory. I think I have it sorted. Right now waiting for glue to dry before checking.

Hi John, Two place that might be better on asking about your Gondola.... https://modelshipworld.com/forum/13-discussions-for-ships-plans-and-project-research-general-research-on-specific-vessels-and-ship-types/ for general non-CAD discussion and then here if about CAD: https://modelshipworld.com/forum/34-cad-and-3d-modellingdrafting-plans-with-software/

I really see no need for large power tools on this model as I'm pretty much building it "out of the box". If rigging, maybe a lathe for the masts but those can also be done by hand but I'm thinking only stub masts on this one.

Kevin, no worries. Always seats... did I mention the balcony? Not the first time I've done that Bob, and probably not the last. But it's part of what I need to do for me. I feel like how to build a model is coming back to me. Well, I did step 72, the one I missed...<sigh> and did it and also faired the top of the bulkheads. Re-glued one down as the glue/water mix I was using didn't hold. A true comedy of errors but no real harm done.

Thanks Glenn. I just realized that somehow I missed 72. Thus, stern part of the deck wasn't seating. I'll go stand in the dummy corner for a bit.

I will. I looked at Glenn's log and he didn't mention it. Edit.. I found that one and the solution was to check, double check and check again. Headed to the shop.

As for the build a bit of head scratching. My deck patterns (44 and 45) seem too wide and are not flush along the centerline. A bit of overlap maybe <1mm. I'll do some more test fitting and if need be, a bit if fettling with the notches where they connect with the frames. Note, the lower deck for the hold was a perfect fit.

Dave, welcome to my circus.... I'm feeling like the head clown today. If questions are related to this build, feel free to ask here. Otherwise, PM is fine and also there are all the subforums too.

Bitao, makes a good point, shonezmija. Don't compare to others but look at them as goals. It's a process to get there. And start "small" scratchbuilding. Maybe a kit with as many of the parts as you can made from scratch. There's no rush and no pressure. For all but a few, this is a hobby. -
Thanks for the likes and comments. Small update but moving along.. I made and added the coamings and gratings over their respective openings. Also added gundeck support beams and the beams themselves. So far, so good, and I"m a happy camper. Really starting to like a ship. Tomorrow I'll work on the stern and with a bit of luck and no distractions maybe get the gun deck foundation in place. Quite a bit of work between those bits and getting the gundeck veneer installed.

You might post your location as location is factor with shipping, customs, etc.

Welcome to MSW. Do tell us a little about yourself as there might be members in your area. Also, post some photos so we understand the problem.

I didn't do much in shaping the bow and stern but I think for me mentally (yes I"m obviously mental) it'll be better to shape at the time I sand prior to planking. I did get the bow, stern, deck, and the gun port frames mounted. Probably would have had more done but had to buy groceries and deal with apartment issues.

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
