Well, if it's not a stand alone and is going to end up as part of the display, put it here. I'm guessing that the angles from the hardware store were a bit cheaper than MicroMarks. The only issue I had in the past was the hardware store ones weren't always 90 degrees.

Sometimes, I'm just as slow as molasses in winter... I took my time fairing the inside of the bulwarks/hull area and installed the inner planking. Not too shabby from where I sit. Also added the quarterdeck beam spacing. Time to dig out the Gundeck planking pieces, fit them and paint the inside red. I'll probably lay down a thin coat of Vallejo matt varnish first as my tests showed a smoother finish than just doing the paint itself as I'm using a brush. This should be fun. In case you're wondering what the clothes pins are for, they hold the hull down to the building stand.

There is a AoTS book for Bellona but not sure how available it is. It does show a taper on the bow. A quick search here does show some builds with most being kits. You might check out Mark's scratch build here:

The deeper you go into this hobby, and the more time you spend at Michael's, Hobby Lobby, etc. (including fabric stores) the more stuff you'll find you can use.

You're doing well, Jacek. Like you, I'm holding off on finishing any fairing until just before planking.

As I understood it, the train tackle had hooks and were secured somewhere near the gun(s). Some nations only had one set for every two guns, others each gun had it own. I can't remember where, but I've seen drawings showing the the tackle hooked to eyes in the overhead beams so they were at the ready but not laying about the deck.

Still playing catch up with everyone else.... another good source for sanding "sticks" is those bendy nail files that are disposable. Assorted grits and they do work well and flex.

Good work, Glenn. I broke 2 of those tabs so far but managed to glue them back in place. Since they're opposite each other I probably shouldn't have worried. That's reassuring, Chris. I was sweating it.

Ok... lets just leave this one as is since you already have one for the Minnesota and this conversation at this point is the Nef. It's sometimes (many maybe?) easy to go off topic and confusion results. Best bet is not to cross over postings like the Minnesota here and the Nef over on the other one.

Craig, is the driver and wheel glued in? Or is the wheel just "fixed" in place for fit? I'm hoping he can come out for painting. On the human scale, that driver had a tight area to do his work.

Beautiful and precise work, Tom. Do post a picture when have in a case. BTW, 4-1/2 years isn't bad considering research, problem solving, etc., not to mention real life getting in the way.

Maybe the title of this needs to be changed to the Steam Frigate Minnesota. Easy to see the confusion since the title is for the Nef.

In addition to those places mentioned by Barkeater, there's places like Ages of Sail, possibly Blue Jacket,. As for the 3mm blocks, you'll have to size the eyebolts for your needs. Are you looking for the bolts that go into the ship or into the block? BTW, how many do you need? I look in my stash and see what I have. I'll need the diameter of the ring. I think I have some very tiny ones both wire and photo etch.
