  1. I moved it for you Kurt. All done.
  2. Wonderful builds, both of them. Brought back memories of hanging out at the drag strip far too long ago. I'm reminded of those "roadster" rails with different bodies on them.... the Fiat and some of the early Fords. Good times that are long gone.
  3. Welcome from the southern end of the PNW. By all means, give some thought to a build log. It's the best way to get help and meet other modelers.
  4. Interesting airplane though having the fuel tanks in the cockpit seems bizarre to me.
  5. Welcome to MSW. I moved this to a more appropriate area of the forum.
  6. Welcome to MSW.
  7. Or perhaps very very thinned out paint? Tea/coffee are acidic and will destroy cloth eventually.
  8. I'd say go for it. There's two choices... continue this topic with the new figurehead, or start a new one. Your choice.
  9. I'm in also.. Had thoughts back then about buying one, but several of my fellow Marines talked me out of it. In some ways, I'm glad they did.
  10. To my eye, that is one fantastic bit of craftsmanship. Looks great.
  11. If it comes down to it, just tell her your business needed the tax write off. I've heard that many business types use this reason.
  12. Ok. I'd probably go with what Chuck suggested then.
  13. You raise an interesting question and a good one. I've heard in the past that some companies would scale the model such that parts would fit into a "standard" box they had on hand so they didn't need to pay "retooling costs" for special sized boxes. And then there's the "standard" (so-called) size for hobby shop shelves. These could all be urban myths but I do have to wonder.
  14. Your brass parts look pretty darn good even with the magnification, Pat.
  15. From watching you develop your past kits and also scratch building and also one of Chris's kits, I daresay your first two chapters are most costly chapters. So all in all, I go along with what the others are basically saying.... don't short change yourself. It's a pity you can farm out the cutting work for the first two chapters and maybe speed up the process and number of kits. And no... I'm not talking about have some Chinese Pirate company do the work.
  16. Beautiful work, Craig. Looking forward to the Roadster when you're ready.
  17. While I can't answer your questio, I moved this to the appropriate area where it's more likely to be seen.
  18. Looks interesting, Denis. I'd suggest you do a similar post in the "Traders and Dealers"area since you're selling.
  19. To add to what Keith and others have said. Read the planking tutorials about "prebending" the planks and using a quick soak and heat. The heat will soften the inner wood and when cool the wood will stay bent.
  20. If you haven't seen this... have a quick look. There's a section on blades (teeth count) for different thicknesses of wood. Very useful. I don't have a Byrne's saw but the blade choices of tooth counts is invaluable, IMO.
  21. I can't add to what's already been said about starting the model ship journey... but Welcome to MSW.
  22. Welcome to MSW, Turel. You might want to give some thought to doing an introduction here: https://modelshipworld.com/forum/3-new-member-introductions/ Also, we have a large area for tools discussion. Here: https://modelshipworld.com/forum/18-modeling-tools-and-workshop-equipment/ It should be said that some tools such as the Loom-A-Line are more trouble than they are worth. Biggest recommendation is to buy only what you need, when you need it and buy the "best" you cam afford (not the most expensive or flashiest advertised ones).
  23. Very well done, Greg. Looks to be a bit of a landing problem which makes this a very different and eye catching display.
