  1. Hi Dennis Good question! I was going to do a port side, but the risk of getting variations between the exact shapes was too high. So, I'Ve decided to do the reverse technique; which should guarantee that the left and right sides match. Thanks and all the best Patrick
  2. HimJerry Those bitts look really good. The sailor standing next to one of them emphasises the fact that they must've been pretty substantial in size, especially given the sorts of strain that the rigging would've placed upon them. Cheers Patrick
  3. Hah! That's what my Admiral says to me! Anyhow, it could be worse, I could be singing a Brittney Spears song....
  4. Hi Jan What a beautiful set of models you've built. Out of interest, how will you be displaying them? On a single display board as a fleet? Cheers Patrick
  5. Hi Igor Really nice work! I especially love the way it's all coming together into another tiny masterpiece. The ships boats you've built were also very nice. Which ship do they belong to, out of interest? Cheers Patrick
  6. Hi Nils Thanks. Interesting method is true because this is the first time I've tried it. Hopefully it'll work. If it doesn't ...oh well...it'll be a case of going back to the drawing board. I'm pretty confident, it'll be ok, though. Finger's crossed. Cheers Patrick
  7. Hi Dimitris Sorry to hear about your Hard Drive. It's typical of modern technology, I guess....'it's great when it works and a real pain when it doesn't'... I I hope you can get it sorted soon. Cheers Patrick
  8. Hi everyone Many thanks for all your comments and likes! I've made some progress over the weekend. This includes cutting the half hull into sections so that I can get the frame templates. I've also cut the keel as well as a template of the side profile of the whole hull. This week I'll cut out the frames and glue them to the building board. Slow work, but fun! I hope you enjoy the photos. Cheers Patrick
  9. Hah Dimitris I'm not sure you'd trust me!!! Knowing me....I'd probably well and truly stuff'em up! Very flattering, though. Cheers and all the best Patrick
  10. Hi Igor Incredible. How is anyone going to beat that! ...and you think it's too large? Looks absolutely perfect to me. Cheers Patrick
  11. Hah! Nice story, but it seems you haven't learnt your lesson because you're doing it to us now!
  12. Hi Ben Not only is that a nice update on your progress, but I also now have you to blame because I can't get the Thole Man out of my head! I swear if I go to bed still singing it..... All the best! Cheers Patrick
  13. Yep, me too! I still hanker after the good ole days when I used to sail my scale RC yachts. But, I can live those memories through the current RC build logs on MSW, eg this one, Jerry Todd's, Qwerty's (Lextin) Benside and others. Count me in! Cheers Patrick
  14. Hi Dennis Absolutely super detailing, especially with buoys, the flags, the chains, blocks, etc. Amazing stuff. The only that could make this more real, would be to have George Clooney, some fish on deck, a crate or two, a spot of rust and maybe some carelessly coiled ropes strewn about the deck. You gotta be pretty chuffed with your AG, for sure! Cheers Patrick
  15. Hi Jan Congratulations! She's looking great and a welcome final addition to Columbus' fleet. Cheers Patrick
  16. Hi Jerry She's coming along very nicely and the figurine gives a true indication of scale. Nice! Cheers Patrick
  17. Hi Pete I'm wondering the same thing as Mark. What's the secret for sanding the balsa? Cheers Patrick
  18. Hi Ben I'm liking what I see! I'll be looking forward to seeing your next update. Cheers Patrick
  19. Hi Elia. Sorry to hear about what's happened. I hope you'll be able to sort it out and get back on track. Cheers Patrick
  20. Hi Row Many thanks! It's still early days yet, but, yeah, I hope to be able to do the design justice. Fingers crossed! Cheers and thanks Patrick
