  1. Hey Leo Thanks and it's great to hear from you again. You've been a bit quiet lately, so I've been wondering how you've been. Hope all's well!!! Cheers Patrick
  2. Thanks Greg I'm trying to be very disciplined by not rushing into the internal accommodation, but, at the same time, I just can't wait to get stuck into it either. Our Australia Day was good. Hot, but, still good. Cheers Patrick
  3. Hi Denis - many thanks. You're right; little by little at the moment. Hopefully, it won't be too much longer before I can get more time to work on her. Hi Bob - I'm slowly inching towards the insides, but I'm still trying to get the external paint as smooth and nicely finished as I can. The trouble is that each time I look at the superstructure under a lamp, or in the photos, more and more imperfections keep appearing. I swear, one day, I'll get the superstructure perfect! Hi John-many thanks for your compliments! Greatly appreciated. Hi Carl - thanks! Yep. I agree, with my limited time to work on Shadow, I really do feel that things are going very slowly. Oh well...hopefully I'll get more time soon. Hi Igor -many thanks! I hope all's well with you. Happy modelling in 2017! Cheers Patrick
  4. Thanks Brian! Much appreciated. Thanks for your compliments, Gary. Greatly appreciated! Cheers and thanks, Brian and Gary Patrick
  5. Hi everyone and thanks for all of your comments and Likes. Much appreciated. Just a quick update. I've added the radars and some more details to Shadow's mast. In addition, I've also added the tall mast which is situated on Shadow's foscle. Lastly, I've been doing some more painting and puttying on her superstructure and rear diving platform. Lots more work to go, though. I hope you enjoy the photos, folks. Have a great week! Cheers Patrick
  6. Hi FMartins Mmmm...now that's ingenious!!!! I'd never have thought of scribing the hull to simulate the hull planking. I guess that's why we love this hobby and MSW in particular. It's a terrific venue for sharing ideas and techniques. Good luck with your hull and I hope it goes well. I look forward to seeing how you go. Cheers Patrick
  7. Hi Fred I'm not sure how I missed your build log, but can you please add me to your audience? Your ship's gonna be a beauty, for sure. Cheers Patrick
  8. Hi Nenad. Looks promising! Second time lucky and I'm sure it'll work out well. Cheers Patrick
  9. Hi Mark Congratulations on reaching this milestone. She looks absolutely brilliant! I hope Janet's on the mend, too. Cheers Patrick
  10. Hi John Many thanks and greatly appreciated. I too, really love those water shots. Thanks also, for the very many Likes that you gave this Log last night. All the best for 2017 as well. Happy modelling! Patrick
  11. Hi Denis Marvellous, marvellous and marvellous. I don't know how you do it, but you do everything so darn well. I reckon the only things missing are the crew, fish and some rust stains! I too, will be sad to see this one finished. I hope you've got a nice display case sorted for her... Cheers Patrick
  12. Hi John Nice! I'm going to head off to the Gallery Section soon to check out the completed model. Thanks for sharing this retrospective look at how you built her. Cheers Patrick
  13. Hey Mike That vice looks like it's the perfect solution and 'fit for purpose'. More importantly, as it isn't ugly, I bet your other half is happy. You know what they say about happy wives....happy lives! Cheers Patrick
  14. HI Elija Thanks for your comments and yep, I think you're right. That must be a ladder to reach the uppermost parts of the antenna. Imagine having to climb it in a rough seaway? Yikes. It'd be like in the good old days of sailing ships with towering rigging. HI Denis - many thanks. I reckon you're right, she's surely a sweet design. I guess that's what attracted me to her in the first place. Hi Greg - many thanks. I guess to me, I know where the 'wonky' bits are, e.g., staircases aren't sitting properly and the radar domes aren't all at the same level. Just little things, I know; but all easily fixed of course. Cheers and thanks everyone! Patrick
  15. No criticisms, only kudos....especially as this is your first scratch build. Cheers Patrick
  16. Hi Fmartins Wow, wow and triple wow!!!! I don't know how I could've missed this log, but now that I've found it, I ain't going to miss out again. I'm in!!! You're doing an absolutely terrrific job, especially at this scale. She looks brilliant! Cheers Patrick
