  1. Hi Bob and Pete Thanks guys It's great to be back and like you, I'm looking forward to outfitting Shadow's interior. That should be heaps of fun. All the best. Cheers Patrick
  2. Hi folks I'm back! Life's been really hectic over the past few weeks, which has meant that I've had little time for MSW, catching up with people's builds, or working on Shadow. Hopefully, things will ease off so that I can get back to some normality. Anyhow, over the past few nights, I've kinda reached a milestone with Shadow - that being the completion of the construction of the major components of her superstructure. With that milestone behind me, I can now settle down to detailing her interior accommodation and the myriad of above-deck details. Fun times ahead! I hope you all enjoy the photos as much as I'm going to enjoy catching up with everyone's build logs! Cheers Patrick
  3. Hi E Nice job. The last photo clearly shows the sleek lines of the hull. Keep up the great work. Cheers Patrick
  4. Hi Vaddoc Nice lamination work, there. It's a pity about the mistake with the frames, but, at least you've picked up the error and are well on your way to resolving it. Well done on both counts. Cheers Patrick
  5. Hi Jerry Without a doubt, one of life's simple pleasures is watching your own creation setting sail and coming to life on the water. She looks beautiful and truly a wonderful sight to behold. You must be very happy. Cheers Patrick
  6. Hi WB Nice job on the cabin. Ahh, now she's really starting to take shape. Cheers Patrick
  7. Nice work, Rob. The foredeck is certainly looking crowded and 'fit for purpose'. I can't wait until the rigging starts growing, but I understand that that's a long way away. Enjoy. Cheers Patrick.
  8. Hi Denis I love the way that you think and the way that those thoughts are translated into the actual build process. It's almost as if we can follow your thought patterns picture by picture. For instance, the way you tackle the winch is a good case in point. We can see how each little bit that you add to it is the result of a spark of ingenuity and creativity; all of which will result in something believable and realistic. Nicely done! Cheers Patrick
  9. What a beautifully detailed and finished model. You deserve to very proud of your accomplishment. Cheers Patrick
  10. Hey Igor Mighty fine work on the navigation light!!! Love it. Cheers Patrick
  11. Hi Bob Two marvels for the price of one. They'll keep you busy, for sure. I'm in. Cheers Patrick
  12. Hi Steve Amazing work, I must say; especially the tools and vice.'' Great stuff! Cheers Patrick
  13. Hi Lawrence Many thanks! I'm really enjoying building Shadow; albeit, the time I've had available lately has been pretty scarce. Hopefully, that'll change as things settle down over the next few weeks. I've also thought about your comment about the large scale models, but sadly, I've resorted to building miniatures because I have no more room for the big models in my house. In fact, all my large RC yachts (including a 3 masted radio controlled clipper ship which I built when I was 17), are languishing in my garden shed! Sad, but true. So, miniatures it is, from now on! Have a great week. Cheers Patrick
  14. Hi Denis Nice!!!! It's amazing what a difference the stain has made to the fish box. I'm definitely digging it! Cheers Patrick
  15. Nice work on the fish box, Denis. The deck is definitely looking fit for purpose, now! Cheers Patrick
  16. Well, Igor...just when I thought it couldn't possibly get any smaller, you come up with this teeny tiny beauty!!! A little masterpiece! Well done. Cheers Patrick
  17. Hey Lextin I've also been wondering how you've been going, too. I hope you're enjoying it! BTW what does "AB" stand for? Is it your rank? Cheers Patrick
  18. Hi Igor It's interesting to see the process you're using to make the sea. I'm sure it's not as easy as you make it look, but it'll be worth it once done. Cheers Patrick
  19. Hi Denis I can't believe what a week you must've had. From the joys of a new grandson, through to a storm, flooding, an injured son and, everything else in between! Yet, despite all of that, you still manage to churn out a beautiful looking winch! I don't how you manage to juggle everything, but you always seem to do it with aplomb. I'm certainly envious of your ability to do that. All the best! Patrick
  20. Hi Bob Simply marvellous! You deserve to be very proud of her. A true gem. Cheers Patrick
