Hi Dave Outstanding!!! It's a pity that your Admiral has ruled out the extra room, because it'd be lovely to see the ship fully rigged. Oh well.....best not to argue with the Boss. All the best Patrick

Hi John Thanks! Truth be told, I wish I really did have 'a pair of drop down microscopes'...they'd certainly help me find those pesky little parts that go flying off in all sorts of directions! Have a great weekend! Cheers Patrick

Hi Kees The sumwing's coming together beautifully. Overall, you're Inching slowly by slowly to the final assembly, no doubt. Can't wait. Any idea what's next? Cheers Patrick

Hi Walter You're a braver man than me, because I haven't even tried 3D CAD, so I take my hat off to you. Where there's a will, there's a way. I'm sure things will fall in place sooner, rather than later. Cheers Patrick

Haha! I had three knee operations in 5 months (on the same knee). On each occasion, I was asked to do the same thing. Gees, you'd think he'd know which knee to operate on after the first surgery!!! In all seriousness, Ken and Frank, I'm one of those dullards who feels the need to mark everything...still get things wrong, though! Cheers Patrick

Hi Bill Super rope work! Love it. Without a doubt, she's coming together beautifully! Cheers Patrick -
Hi David I'll definitely keep you in my thoughts. I don't think you'd be relishing the thought of going back onto normal chemo. It doesn't sound nice, but at the end of the day, if it works, then that's all that matters. I wish you every success in the hope that you can knock it for a six! Take care, always. Cheers Patrick

Hi Frank and everyone else for all of your comments and Likes. Greatly appreciated!!! Well, Frank! Challenge accepted! I've done a quilt for the Owner's double bed. The only thing is that the quilt is taking the form of a black quilt that's folded and haphazardly thrown over the foot of the bed. Nothing precise here, because, after all, the ship is meant to be lived in! The same thing goes for the cushions at the head of the bed. Nothing neat and tidy; by design. I've also added a geometric wall hanging that's mounted above the bed head; just to add a bit of visual interest. Also, there's a red rug on the floor, which contrasts nicely against the blue carpet. Lastly, Mark - if you look closely, you may notice that I have added the two sinks in the bathroom! Hah! Anyhow, I hope you like the photos. Have a great week, everyone. Cheers Patrick

Hi Mark Very nice! That looks like four days of hard work which has really paid off. You must be itching to release the hull from the Building Board...but, I understand that you may be reluctant to do so until you're absolutely sure that the time's right. I admire your patience. All the best! Cheers Patrick

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
