  1. I guess you have some freedom with the counter as the second planking and the counters first could join covering any gaps or profile. I might be wrong but thats how it looks like it might work Mark. OC.
  2. Evening all, a bit more done this evening - Haversacks and water bottles painted, Grey trousers done and the facings done in Blue. OC.
  3. Excellent work Mark, getting the first done is such a mile stone - and those counter bends "dont get me started" you are doing superb my friend. OC.
  4. Interesting - guess if you wanted to go down a "Display the inside" set up - wonder if you could fabricate a see through side, trouble is that would take away its real life look. All that interior detail in yours is Gorgeous - same situation as my Chally so much locked away inside not to be seen. OC.
  5. Superb work my friend and a really enjoyable read, you finished her off lovely with tha contrasting Black and wood. Whats your next project? OC.
  6. I too built this kit along with @harlequin and @hamilton we all experienced the same kit shorfalls - the miss shaped frames needing packing out and the akward reear counter and bending the first planking around both the stern and bow. Just keep at it enjoy what you do - its a learning curve that we all go through - evet inch forward is something oyu have learned for the next build. OC.
  7. 40K Views - Thank You all so much for getting it to so many views - can't believe it my friends. OC.
  8. Excellent work Edward, I think the Pedal Thingy's are "Variable control pressure - combined plates using a leg muscle movement control - that initiates a control movement and actuation via a fine system linkage through put device, that in turn moves other device thingy's at the rear of the plane to make it fly or crash" Or something like that😁 OC.
  9. Excellent kit (can't go wrong with these kits) and the figures are the same make as I got for my Chally 2. OC.
  10. Evening all, more progress applying the Red coat layers and cleaning up any over paints. OC.
  11. Thinking about it - the problem might not even be with the Primer - as the White I have used was a brand new bottle that was just diluted in my wet bowl and that went on with no trouble - I remember I was having touble getting a flat finish with my Reds and Blues before I started using a wet system - so I mixed in some acrylic flat medium and flat coats - I think its the paint going on that causing the trouble of needing several thin coats, I thought it was funny as the mixed Red and Blue when mixed with a bit of water to the right mixture, when loaded on the brush I could not see the paint as if it was transparent. It will do the job - just taking a bit longer. OC.
  12. For anyone wanting to use Vallejo Surface Primer - I found the following review quite useful - OC. https://tangibleday.com/vallejo-surface-primer-for-miniatures-review-and-tips/
  13. Thanks Mark worth a check out, I know the Vallejo Primer is very popular and does work - just takes more work with paint layers ontop of it. OC.
  14. Hi Mark, what it is - the Vallejo Surface Primer (even sprayed) dries to a slightly silky finish, and when I put my first paint layer on (again same make and base of paint - all Acrylics) it goes on a bit like mixing oil and water, then next layer covers better but can still see some patchy areas then it covers normaly with the Third or Forth coat - it has to go on in thin layers like watery milk so as not to obscure the details. The Black Primer is preferable as it is useful for creating a 3D effect on the edges of the details. But I am searching for other Black Acrylic Primers. OC.
