  1. Good morning everyone standing riggng continues, I put the Bumpkins in and secured them into place with a bracket, I have managed to get quite confused where some of the lines get secured, like the Jib out haulers, and the 4 main stays, so that is work in progress, now i am going to move aft and start the main mast upper shrouds
  2. Rich I found when putting the deadeye strops in that I got a better and more secure result by drill a small hole in the side of the slot in the channel , I even put a drop of C/A on it, had no rips outs, but I did ensure that the chain plates would line up, I also pinned the channels into the hull
  3. Very nice indeed, don't forget the bow gun-port openings
  4. when you run out of 1.3mm black thread, please remember the couple of metres on the rigging tool
  5. I wish I had a fraction of your skills, those carvings look great
  6. I am so following this log, and other Confederacy builds since I decided it would be my next build, If chuck allows me
  7. I managed to complete the main stay and preventer lacing, and put two new lines in from the foremast to the bowspit, I just need now to work out what they are called, I had not provisioned for the blocks fitted to the gammoning - and hope that what i have done will do the job, even if they are over sized
  8. Standing Rigging continues (and might be for a while)
  9. I like the idea, wish I had done the fancy wood work, lol bit late for me on this build
  10. lovely work, what are you going to use to bring out the detail on those whales
  11. agreed , but i have not seen a Victory build with the foredeck lanyards did you see plate 43?
  12. Dafi - do you have Longbridge "The Anatomy Of Nelsons ships", if so can you please have a look at plate 43, My scanner is not working at present, however it seams that tjhat the lanyards for the chaser lids were controlled from the fore deck
  13. Good morning Charlene (and Jerry) hope you are both well I am still progressing the snaking on the main stay and preventer, hope to complete that tomorrow Friday (work gets in the way during the week) Once the studding spars are fitted to the build, I will not have any where within the house to display her so my man cave will have to be altered to display her, at a guess she will be at least 18" wider - so is going to take a lot of space
  14. good evening Sjors sorry about the setback, - other than that she is looking mighty fine, will be interested to see what the rope is like when you get it
  15. Nick Even though I pm'd you today, just got home and looking at "The extended eyes you have on the bottom of the Sprit Sail Yard?" - lol i am perhaps not looking at what you are seeing my friend
  16. I forgot to do my post last night (even though I thought I had , - to tired, spent 4 hours snaking the main stay and main preventer stay, but wish i had done it before doing the ratlines, as they are going to be in my way, oh hum, can some one please tell me which is the bob stay and which is the bowspit shrouds, at a guess i think the bottom of the three cut water lines is the bobstay
  17. lovely work, all this detail and soon to be covered over for ever
  18. Dafi - what a compliment from the Victory master, Thankyou so very much, that means so much to me
  19. Frank just caught up with your work, she looks fantastic, love the way you have attached the sails in the furled position
  20. Hi Lawrence Yes I will be adding stuns to the build, which will mean 36 sails I think, presently sourcing the cloth to build them (well the wife will be) Im still enjoying the standing rigging stage, just a bit more difficult than it needs to be, due to being in the conservatory rather than the man cave Now 7 months old Dobbie is growing up fast and hopefully will allow me to go back into the man cave soon, at present to try to spend to much time keeping an eye on what we are doing, and the British weather makes that impossible, so that was the reason I moved into the house thank you for looking in, hope you are well
  21. well I actually feel i am getting somewhere with the build, although not checked i quess that I have spent more time on her this year so far than the whole of 2015 the bow now seams to be looking tidier and so far i am happy with it, but with limited build space, it is a bit of a handful tomorrow i hope to lave the main stay and preventer stay
