  1. just had a wonderful lunch break catching up on your log, what lovely clean crisp work, everything that my build isn't,

  4. Good evening everyone although I have been absent from MSW I am actually Boat building in my spare time, I read in one of the post not long ago, to attempt to do one thing per night on a build even if it is tying one knot, Now as I am working out of a temporary man cave, I am trying to avoid swinging her around a lot, so have decided to to work on the bows and see how things go I made up a quick spirit sail yard as I try to work out where all the lines go, and have adopted the approach of not guessing, but try to work out what each line is trying to achieve - making it much easier for me anyway,
  5. Robert, I doubt there is anything here worth taking, but by all means - after 4 years i am still only on page 4 of Gil Middleton build
  6. Good evening everyone, I pinned a stub 8mm spar to the formast to practice rigging the Jeers, but without much success, the lines keep dropping in and crossing over them selves within the cleat, will try again with a thicker thread, as a result the jeer blocks are at different heights
  7. Ian its lovely to catch up with your build again, I seam to have been out of the loop for some time
  8. permission to follow your build please, this will be my next purchase
  9. Thankyou Lawrence, Im really enjoying the build again, I got so close to just giving up on her last year, but once the masts started being worked on my attitude to the build changed, But hopefully I can progress quite a lot this year and get her to the completed stage, the final decision has been made on my next build, after lots of changing my mind, the money is set aside, just dont want to buy it yet in case that gets started and delays this, It will be the USF Confederacyhttp://www.cornwallmodelboats.co.uk/acatalog/model-shipways-confederacy-MS2262.html
  10. Good evening spent a lot of time on the build this weekend, - I may have to re-do the main mast again, as I forgot the fire buckets, have managed to put then in now but they are not rigged with handles, Mizzen mast shrouds now going in

  15. Good afternoon everyone Progress and a dry day to take her outside for the first time this year, main mast cathapins and futtock shrouds are now in place
  16. robipod, I tend to force my self to sit, but as I and not in my normal mancave at present i dont have the right amount of leg room to make my self comfy, as for the build - hope to have her completed this year, Im already thinking of what sail material to use and how to make all the spars and finding decent drawings for the stuns to be deployed
  17. Im worried about the fire below, hope you dont loose the supply of tic tacs
