Mary Rose by Baker - scale 1/50 - "Your Noblest Shippe"

Recommended Posts

Looking good Patrick.

I have a few "things" for target practice with that Tiger II, but Google maps can't find a route from Pennsylvania to Belgium. Do our places really exist if Google can't find a route? 😁

Mikki

"You're gonna need a bigger boat."

Working on: Dusek's San Martin

Completed: Good ol' first ship build- Constructo's Albatross; Mamoli's HMS Bounty; Mamoli's Golden Hinde; Amati's Drakkar; Occre's Revenge; Artesania Latina's San Fran

Fantastic build, it’s going to be of historical interest in the future. I must ask, do you have a special jig to get pairs of tree nails so even.

Slowhand,

Current build - Polacca scratch build from Amati plan

previous builds

San Martin - Occre

H.MS Resolution - Corel

Half Moon - Corel

Dragon keel boat - Billings

Thanks.

No, I first draw pencil lines and then start drilling

Perhaps you need one of those 'funny' tanks they used on the Normandy beaches. Only 3778 miles across the Atlantic - a doddle!

Standards and channel starboard side.

Not every standard matched with the paintwork 😓

painting the hull in advance also has disadvantages for glueing.

construction of the (very long) channel.

The channel touches the hull only on 2 places.
Strange, I've never seen this anywhere else

Channel in place, now the small standards.

A rigging rail is also placed. No belaying pins on Mary

Actually, a stand-off of the channel from the side to prevent rot was usual on wooden ships. It's just that models usually don't show this feature!

But not on the Mary Rose. The main channel on the Mary Rose is well preserved and there´s nothing like this.
