Adler (locomotive) - Wikipedia

i needed a short break from the Indefatigable so thought i would do a OOB kit

here is a quick review of the contents

all the last cut material is quite good, in a few places the cut has not gone all the way through, so 9/10

the PE is chunky, and has been etched, and quite well detailed 9/10,

instructions, seam ok 10/10

casting need cleaning up to rid the seam lines 8/10

the make up of the boiler was simple enough, as were the forward and after modules, all the MDF is covered in PE

Really excited to see someone building one of Occre’s trains or streetcars.  The amount of detail on these models looks fantastic.  I suspect a lot of the passion at Occre is about this subject matter.

The brass banding on the green barrel looks spot on. The early loco designs for valve gearing are fascinating. Very nice work, Kev.

Happy New Year Kevin!

You’re doing a great job, but it’s a shame Occre made the kit wheels with those oversized “pizza-cutter” flanges. For a display model they could have been made a bit more prototypical.

Regardless, your efforts will result in a great model. Is there any track included in the kit for display?

Happy new year to you as well

there is no track contained within the kit, but Occre go a diorama setting display board, but pricey, i have just made a fleabay offer on one and getting it for 1/2 the price, will allow me to put the 3 carriages on following the tenderimage.png.724a2a83247e55cfba6ec84d607475c6.png

day 7

struggling tonight, in trying to be clever and putting brass strips onto metallic paint, and its just not working, the C/A is staining the paint, so i may have to rethink it, but it looks like im going to have to strip the tender down and redo it

good afternoon

my fix off wanting to do something different is already starting to go away, but i need to finish this project

from fleabay i obtained the diorama board, the full price is over the top, and contains boards, rails, rail fasteners, sleepers and lots of over sized gravel, i bartered and got a 50% reduction, which is what the true price should be
