In the US and Canada we have the Veritas Mini plane. After honing on a diamond plate and leather stropping one can remove eyelash sized shavings from wood. It is now my goto tool for shaping.

I know about this plane. Mine is of the same quality as Veritas.

Our modelers make their own tools for modelers. Some very successful tools are put into production and sold to others. There are also branded tools, but they still have to be modified. For example, all Prokson machines are modified. We make stops and guides ourselves.

I'm cutting out the gun ports. I had little time in the summer, now everything will go faster.

I got tired of making gun ports and decided to draw a little. I drew wreaths for gun ports.

I bought myself a machine for thin drills. Now it will be easier to make loops for gun ports.

The hardest part was attaching the first strip. I had to tear it off and glue it back on twice.

It's worth getting the run of the wale correct, or the rest of the ship won't look right. Looks like you've nailed it!

In the evening I glue the strip, in the morning I break it off. And so on 2 times. I still couldn't get an even and correct line.

Are you bevelling the edges of the planks before or after the installation? What is your technique for that?

I place the slats close to each other. There is no distance between them. The slats have angles of 45 degrees, not 90. Maybe that is why it seems that there is a distance between them.

First, I make a chamfer on the strip with sandpaper, then I glue it.
