Hello, and many, many thanks for your nice comments and likes

Because we had here the last week the finest summer weather, I was't very often at the ship yard. But today the weather shanged and I have worked a little at the yard. The preparations for the following work I made during the week. These bars where for fastening the shields or tent to the wall.

The battens are 0,6 X 1,2 mm. The drill bit has 1 mm Ø

DSC03300.thumb.jpg.ece292828bdd663011f728a45072e0e0.jpg

And that is what I finished today. The worst part of this is, gluing them to the gun wale

Hello, and thank you for your kind comments and likes

Today I build the rudder boss and I'm happy that I got it! :Whew: First I turned it with some surplus, and then fit it to the ship. That was the hardest part. The rod has 1mm Ø. I'm still looking for the drill bit I first used. There must be a black hole somewhere.

Then I glued it with ca to a piece of wood, to file it to the final shape.

That was then the easiest part, gluing it to the ship.

Hello,

after setting in the rudder boss, and the stick as rudder, the ship looks quiet different. More like a ship, I think. After work, the ship sits often in the living room. And after looking half an houer at it, I'm often back at the yard and change this or that. 😚 After I have seen the pictures today, I found an other thing I have to change 😐

And I thought, I just like to build a Viking ship. Now I'm building nearly 6 month! And it's not the end.

Today I cut in the oar ports. Next I have to build the oar-port cover. 😟

Hello

Albert, thank you and all others also for your likes

After I cut out the oar ports, the ship looks really different. More like an ocean liner, or a space ship. 😀

Today I started with the production of the port lids. After doing some Photoshop work and test lids. 😐 But now, I think it works.

DSC03322.thumb.jpg.d1cae0e0089ee44c3311b100c91c0575.jpg

The battle field in the winter garden, and the results. Half the lids are done.

After finishing the battens under the gun wale, I thought is that now masochism? This is in my opinion not far away from it. 😏

The lids are done. But the next great thing is, glue them to the ship. You could't grip them with tweezers or thongs! I have an idea, but if that works, I will see tomorrow.

Siggi

Hello,

this is a great day, the oar ports are closed.

To get the lids as close a possible centred over the hole, I turned a stick slightly smaller then the hole of 2,3mm. That was the hardest part today. 😀

Then I glued the lid, centred the stick to the lid, put the stick through the hole and glued the lid fast. Done  :champagne-2:
