So far so good Augie. The rigging looks really clean. I'm kind of waiting for you to accomplish some more so I can follow along (our ships have some similar rigging).

Thanks,

Patrick

Augie,

If you're worried about sticking your face in the rigging, I hope you wear glasses!

John

John -  It's the glasses that are the problem!  I tend to forget they are there (magnifiers included). And the Base Commander frowns upon wearing them at the dinner table.  But fear not ....... I keep hearing your advice ...... 'work from the other side and be careful reaching around '.

I'm not worried about taking a flying jib in the eye.  I have another one.......eye that is :D

Patrick --  moving along at 'All ahead Slow'.  Will keep ya posted.

So very cool looking Augie.  My favorite part of these ships are the rigging, such artisticness in them when they are done; and yours is really fantastic to look at!!!

It's 1223GMT here on 3/23.  Site just came back up for me and I have some catching up to do.  My apologies if I miss anyone!

Sjors ----  Yes, lots of discussion.  Patrick is going at his standing rigging hammer and nail.  Andy is off to Thunder Bay.  I've taken 2 days 'off' to shovel snow (more to come!) and you (apparently) are over run by clowns juggling cannonballs.  Will endeavor to continue Syren as soon as arms stop shaking from muscle fatigue :D .

B.E --- Thanks for stopping by.  Yes, the further along I get on this project the better she looks.  In essence it's because of the lines of the ship.  She is a true beauty in my eye and Chuck's design does her proud.  It's amazing to me how we all have our favorites and see things differently.  I'm sure we all share a 'sweet spot' for HMS Victory (the epitome of a wooden fighting ship) and our US Constitution (ahem :) ) .  But my personal favorite is HMS Medway which is the very same shipped that chased down, and captured, my Syren.  Funny how life works.

PS-  Both Andy and yourself have brought alive my appreciation of Pegasus.

Augie,

I'm sorry……………….

The site was online again at 5.00 pm this morning, I think that you are still sleeping then…..

For the snow, why did you give me a call.

I pick up my snowboard, shovel, thing and will help you with the snow.

Then you can give your arms the needed rest and continue the rigging on the syren.

You happy, me happy, everybody happy!

And now, of you go to the workbench!

Hup ,hup.

Having come this far with the Syren (and the good job you've done with her) Pegasus is not a bad kit for an encore. You're left quite a bit more to your own defenses with respect to the instructions, and the gunport patterns can be a bit of a pain (although I suppose you could opt out and buy some extra planking, if you don't mind going that route), but overall it's a good kit with a wealth of detail. All more options to consider in the near future ;)

I really admire your treatment on Pegasus Andy.  But I've already got 3 on the 'next up' wish list so we'll see what happens.

Hope things are ok up there at 48+ degrees North.  We're getting slammed pretty good here in the Rockies (stupid Ground Hog blew it this year).

Just have to add.....it doesn't taste like chicken!!! :o  It has a "unique" and awful taste! My husband was on a wild game kick for a while and we tried a lot of strange things. I shudder at the memory...and I'm NOT a fussy eater! :P

Oh heavens........you ate our groundhog!!!!!  Just as well.  There was an article in the newspaper that he/she is getting sued for blowing the weather forecast this year.  With an early Spring predicted we're diggin out from 1.5 feet of snow!

Bon appetit :P  :P
