  1. Glad to hear of the progress Adriaan. Hopefully you won't go mad with a 3000 piece puzzle and can get back to your build soon
  2. For my two cents worth i can hardly add much to Adelines' response as she hit most of the points that I would bring up. Aesthetics are key to the builder and I for one am building for my pleasure first and for accuracy second. I am not that experienced a builder to think 'museum quality' so I can be flexible about being true to the original. There is a saying here on MSW... your ship, your decisions. For most this is a hobby to enjoy with color schemes and various kit/scratch build alterations (bashing) left to the shipwright.
  3. Another audience member has just signed on... let the build begin looking forward to this one... definitely will be different
  4. Beautiful job Ferit. The sag is perfect... I can only hope mine look half as good.
  5. Looking good Robbyn. one step closer to putting this first build on the done shelf. Also, one step closer to Sturgis... it starts next monday I think ... august 5th right?... when during all the activity is the wedding? I imagine you'll be out of touch starting this weekend. So...early congratulations! :D We will, naturally, need pics...
  6. Eh... dinghy... row boat... whatever... for now it's an oarless tho nicely made vessel that answers to any name
  7. Okay Augie..."row" boat... "life" boat... "life line when the big one sinks" boat... a rose is a rose... anyway.. it's 10:30 am way far east and I've had my coffee but that doesn't mean the brain cells are running at peak performance
  8. Oh, you'd get a call if she would listen to me... but... I can see it now... 'dear, Sjors sad I am free of doing the dishes until next summer' once she stopped laughing she would then inform me I picked up floor scrubbing duty as well :D after of course... doing the dishes
  9. I like games... picture games when things change so... you added the belaying pins (right words?) and you turned your row boat to face the opposite direction...
  10. Oh you can run Sjors but you'll be back.... a little break-away might be called for... but yeah, you'll be back
  11. I'm sorry to hear you're still suffering Adriaan. Good news about your leg but I hope they figure it all out soon.
  12. I think complaining about weather is a human trait...not just the Dutch... Americans' do it ALL the time... if it's cold, when will it warm up, if it snows, when we it be gone (even when it just started a minute ago) etc. etc. Never happy ...
  13. Well, sorry you didn't get a full release but a little more mobility is good. Hope you feel better otherwise tho.
  14. Hmmm, darn it Sjors, you're not supposed to tell us that Okay, so you didn't drill 12 or so holes.... the rest, the deck, cannons, furniture, it all looks impressive so what that you can't take full credit for the divits
  15. That last picture in the cradle.... very nice painting Eddie. Sweet contrast
  16. Beautiful work Sjors, very neat and orderly. .. you even show the precision of your cat divits... attention to details... it shows.
  17. I think it looks good Eric. Some sanding will smooth out the slight uneven spots. This is a single hull right? Are you going natural or stain versus paint like model shipways shows. I've used gorilla glue before but never on a model. I don't like how it expands and tends to go where I don't want it but for inside a hull where it will never see daylight... yeah, could work fine I guess
  18. I must say, honestly, that you are extremely talented builder, you take your time with the details and your work is top-notch. It is a pleasure to watch and learn from your build...
  19. Incredible Ferit. Beautiful work as usual.
  20. Just happened upon your build log Bankie... she's looking great. I'm enjoying your progress and look forward to more to come
