  1. Sjors, I had a lot to view in your build and still have not absorbed it all but from what I see, fantastic! I guess if I ever tackle something so grand I have a yardstick in which to measure myself. Very nice work. Randy
  2. I must say these models are far removed from the models of my youth. I made dozens and dozens of plastic models as a boy but none were this detailed or interesting. I can't say I'll go plastic versus wood but this forum does made me reconsider. Hmmm... Nice work Kevin, it'll be fun watching this model develop.
  3. You say you don't have much patience but I think your work shows that you do Very nice and crisp Augie!
  4. Good to see you're back Wolf! Your SF is so pristine and crisp and to me the nicest version of all of us… I forgot how nice she is in the absence. Love the stern windows and the door. Looking forward to seeing what's next.
  5. Gorgeous job Danny!! I've said it before... your work is so crisp and precise it is amazing.
  6. I don't know how I missed this build log but until today I did. Great read and good info... except for the funeral parts of course. Sorry to hear of so many losses... my condolences to you and your wife Here's to improved karma for the future Now, i hate to say it and sound like... well.... someone else... but where are the most recent planking pics. Enquiring minds and all that...
  7. Congrats!!! Clear a space on the shelf.... pop a bottle of something and celebrate. She is done and done well. Good job!
  8. Looks good Adriaan... and tedious. Are the directions from OcCre better than AL? You remember those...
  9. Finally... pictures! And nice ones too... well done Sjors...
  10. Well well Lady... she looks pretty darn good to me! Well done... and in the finished column which must feel good. You should feel proud...
  11. Beautiful work Bruce. Your attention to detail is gorgeous. Impressive!
  12. Yeah, very impressive! Not only do they look great but they function too! Theo sets a very high bar.
  13. I'm already liking the GF Adriaan. Love the varnish, it gives good color with a nice matte finish to really see the wood. Nice!
  14. You're moving alone nicely Robbyn and she looks good. The syren gets closer every day.... somewhat
  15. Oh man Theo, I love watching you figure things out and then produce fine products such as these. It all has to take a while to do 208 of them, fantastic.... I gotta bookmark this page. Great job!
  16. I've been pretty quiet of late due to dead computers and other obligations and such but I've been lurking and your Aggie is looking splendid Mobbsie. Those 4 little boats are amazing and show you've a very talented builder. Very nice Sir!
  17. Impressive work Popeye and an approach which I will take on the next build. The san fran is my training vessel.... I'll make it work but like so many aspects it is more after thought than planning. That's okay, that's what this is about... learning and adapting. Robbyn, I like your thought of structural bulwark building of the pinracks... might be another thing to think about when ship number 2 gets underway... . It would certainly seem to hold up to the tension of the rigging if it were part of the whole rather than an add on .... hmmm...
  18. I have brown hair that has sprouted more and more gray.... and I swear some of those grays are really blondes hiding behind a silver coat .... we all got 'em and sometimes those blonde moments make life even funner!
  19. Theo, I think they look super! Big improvement over the plywood Nice work!
