  1. That yellow looks like a good color match to the common shades seen depicted Ken! Nice!
  2. At the bottom of the list is what looks like some kind of building sheet. The rest just looks like a passenger manifest. I think your best bet is to wait and see if one of the guys that's building a French Vessel, might be able to help direct you where to look. Maybe Mark. He's scratch-building the French Frigate "Licorne". Here: http://modelshipworld.com/index.php/topic/5339-licorne-by-mtaylor-pof-316-french-frigate-hahn-version-20/ Or there's EdT who recently built the "Naiad". Here: http://modelshipworld.com/index.php/topic/232-hms-naiad-by-edt-160-frigate-38-1797/ Both have done extensive research on French-built vessels. You could try PMing them. Cheers
  3. Your cage and paint locker look great all mounted up and in place Nenad. You're on a roll now---keep it going!
  4. Making some good progress Ken! I like your approach to the planking. Cheers
  5. Found a passenger manifests for 1847 here: http://www.immigrantships.net/v8/1800v8/sylphide18480722.html and for 1854 here: http://www.immigrantships.net/v8/1800v8/sylphide18540522.html Unfortunately, no plans or even reliable pictures.
  6. Chuck makes some really nice rope by all accounts, and I know he has sizes that pretty much match this scale, because a while back, I made a list of all the rope needed to completely replace all the supplied rope in the kit, and he has it.
  7. 5 barrels of rum? It might take 'em a day or so to heal up after all that.
  8. Well--using a miter-gauge on a little bench-top disc sander is one way, or rig yourself up a square sanding jig something like this Sand-it from Micro-Mark
  9. Just got done re-aquainting myself with your Connie Captain. It must be good to know you're already past "the building of the boats" stage. Pulling my barrel up once again. Cheers
  10. Very nice Ken. Your methods here are achieving outstanding results.
  11. I'll just add to the echo's and say congrats on reaching this milestone. Cheers
  12. You gotta wonder about what the mark-up actually is on that stuff if you can save $130 when it's on sale. I think I was in the wrong line-of-work all those years!
  13. Wow 80%! That sh**'ll put some lead in your pencil! 151 was my poison for a while, but moved on to CC. I could drink that and not wake up with a hang-over. But seriously, like you, I've all but given it up, except for an occasional social drink once in a while with old friends. Haven't been drunk now for 10 years. Bars around here closed their doors when I gave it up.
  14. I think they call that "creative expression", and with me, when it comes, I squeeze what I can out of it while it lasts. It must be like a feral cat----comes and goes when it wants to.
  15. I think that going to make a perfect home for those piggies Nenad! Cheers
  16. Glad to see you back in your shipyard Boyd! Almost forgot how good she looks! Almost! The chainplates look great, and I like the bare brass pins against the natural wood planking as well. Hope everything's good there. Cheers
  17. Thank's Ed! You can definitely count on me for a copy also. Cheers
  18. Wow! That's definitely got a good luster to it. Will set off the ornamentation nicely! Good work on the carving, by the way! Something I intend to be practicing in the near future.
  19. More amazing work Ed! I especially loved those hooked scarph joints. Interlocking rail joinery! Did you use some sort of jig for cutting those or was it done by hand and eye? They match from side to side really nice.
  20. Glad you got to spend time with your family Nenad. Nothing's more important. Cheers
  21. She's getting her teeth and looking fantastic Tom! I like that rope-coil jig. Cheers
  22. It's the stripe between the gun-ports that are painted, usually a brighter color like white or yellow ochre.
