Nice job on the spigot Matt. You might have to start slipping those little critters a "Mickey" in the evening. Maybe your local Vet can help with squirrel sedatives. Cheers

I like your water-line marker there Captain. Your inventiveness knows no bounds Sir. Looks good setting on top of her future perch. I'm not sure how you'd want that base-board to be in the end Steve, but if you're wanting a smooth, and flat finish on the top, they make a product that's clear like varnish, only way thicker and dries as hard as plexi-glass. You just build up the sides about an 8th or quarter inch, like a tray, and pour it on and let it flow out to the edges until it levels itself. When I remember the name of it I'll get back to you. Use to use it on table-tops with carvings in them. Cheers

Nice job Sjors! I agree. Once the deck furniture is all in place, those slight changes in color on the deck won't be noticeable. Normal deck weathering. Cheers

Hi John: Just happened upon your Morgan and she's looking mighty fine. I know it's a little late to join the party but, wouldn't mind pulling up a barrel and following along if you don't mind. Cheers

Hi Dennis: Nice work on those railings and stanchions! Since I can see the need for using styrene in my eminent future, I was wondering who your go-to place is for plastic stock. So far, I've found Evergreen, but for shop-around purposes, could use another good option. Cheers

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
