  1. Sorry I didn't get back sooner Rich. Tied up for a while. Here's a couple pics of sheave locations taken from my plans. The main brace is like the ones Bill has shown, and look just like what's in the pics Augie shows. The fore brace, also P/S, is run through blocks tied to the main stay, just under the main top platform, then down to the pin rails next to the main mast. Cheers
  2. Welcome to the forum Mrangus. You came to the right place for help and info if you need it. I don't know of you're from the UK but if you are, I actually have family there in Angus and Forfar. Anyway, have fun and I'll enjoy following along. Cheers
  3. Augie's right Rich! Especially those fore and main braces. The fore braces will feed through sheaves in the hull next to the main mast, and the main braces will feed through sheaves back next to the rear of the boat davits. If you need a pic you can either check Modeler 12's log, or I can dig my plans out and take a snapshot of those sheaves only. (Have to mind copyright laws)
  4. Well------All I can say is maybe you should talk to Matt S. and ask him where you can recruit some of those squirrels that have been working for him.
  5. They look like a vitamin or something. Hard to believe they actually charge for those.
  6. Nice job John! Good call on replacing those cheesy kit-supplied blocks with Chuck's. Makes a world of difference. I'll be doing the same on mine when I get to it. Cheers
  7. 46 kits waiting in the wings? Be sure and let us know if you ever decide on having a clearance sale. Cheers
  8. Nice touch with the netting Matt. After all that, those squirrels might need a short vacation, or at least some kind of incentive bonus. Especially the older squirrels. Cheers
  9. Hi Pat. Been going over your log here, and your Endeavour is looking great. Really like your shop. Still in the process of setting mine up, but because of a lack of space in this apartment, extra precautions have to be dealt with. Sometime this fall I expect to be about done though. Hope you don't mind my following along. Cheers
  10. It's always good to have a plan for a project Jay. I use regular paper for drawings myself. Seems to make cutting lists and assembly much easier. As for my question about the case, I actually didn't know what "cache" was referring to. It definitely wasn't any reference to regional differences in accent. When Steve answered the question, it made sense, and I understood right away. Sorry it got out of hand. Cheers
  11. I just checked my plans and the drawing is there on sheet 5 but it's very small ( a half-dollar would cover it). Also after seeing TimI"s Constitution thread, he posted a picture that will help much more than the plans anyway. If it was me, I'd save your money on the plans, unless you're planning to do your scratch-build in 1:76.8 scale (5/32" = 1 ft). At that scale, your ship will end up at 4 ft, instead of the 3 ft, at 1:96 scale. The skylight is located on the starboard side right next to the grate.
  12. I think you've done an excellent job on her Piet, and I don't think there's too many more details that could be reasonably added at this point. Very well done! Well-----there is the wet bar-----but we'll save that for another build. Cheers
  13. Some people say pot-ah-to, some people say pot-ay-to. And for another twist, some will put a final "E" on the end, just to make people ask why.
  14. Excellent job Dave! She's turned out lovely! Cheers
  15. Not sure what you mean by "glass cache" Jay. You're not talking about a glass case are you?
  16. That's some really good 3D modeling as well as animation Magnus. Dabbled a little in the modeling aspect myself a couple years back. Never animation though. Used Maya, while it was free, and then Blender. Amazingly enough, I found Blender easier to learn.
  17. Turned out real nice Tom! Did you find the adhesive backing to be good enough, or did you end up using a different glue on the plates? Cheers
  18. She's looking good Mark. It's going to be a real nice contrast in color with all the different wood species in place. Cheers
  19. The hatch cover turned out great Piet! I can barely see the seams. You said you dropped a couple parts in the boat, but I know you sub-consciously meant to do that, since every well-equipped navy always carries spare parts. I liked your fix for sharpening that broken bit. Done it in a pinch many times myself, only on larger bits. Amazingly, it was always enough to get the job done. Nice job man! I know your Dad's proud as heck. Cheers
  20. Nice work on your railings Nenad. You see? Your diligence paid off with a result you are happy with. Well worth the extra time and effort I think. Cheers
