I desided to keep the weathering minimal. There is allready some wearing and tearing but nog to mutch. In the first picture you can see the kind of weathering I'm talking about. On the hatches and the bullwarks. The same (light) weathering is all over the ship

I've looked for those but they were not the corect size. So I had to take apart an old revell kit of A german half track and some other pieces to build (just) the spools.

Added some red accents. The ship's name on the side and the letters vD (van Duijn) stands for the owners name. Also painted the puls winches. For the (orange) pulse wire. This wire leads to the net on which are electrodes attached. These electrodes send pulses to the seabottome so the fish jumps up in the net. Much less damage to the bottom and less fuel consumption. Hello Patrick. Every part is marked with a letter. The parts with the letter K (ees) get 'some' more attention and where the others get resing casted parts, I only use original parts. My model will be weathered like heavely used fishingship while the others get minimal weathering. So yes.... I Have a favourite

Nice lugger and I especially like the sharp curved lines of the ship. A real wave cutting bow. You can find these shapes back in modern ships today like the new SAR boats of the KNRM and pilotboats.

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
