This is 1mm thick x 5mm wide limewood, much easier to work with than 1.5mm thick lime (Took a day to plank and 20 minutes to sand).
There's nothing worse than wrestling with planks that are too thick! 1mm wide limewood will be wonderful to work with but it does mean that you need to have the bulkheads faired properly so that you don't sand through the planking when trying to smooth out any bulges in the hull. Don't ask me how I know this!

Although I was tempted, after seeing Rusty's planked decks, I chose to go with the kit decks.
I think the laser etched deck looks pretty darn good, Bob.

The stern decoration has been painted
Wow...what a beautiful paint job! I can't imagine I can't even imagine being able to paint that kind of fine detail without making a big mess of it...

I used Johnsons Klear (Future) floor polish.
Floor polish...amazing...how do modelers ever figure out all of these unique techniques in the first place?

I must admit that I was sorely tempted by this kit, it struck me that it would make a wonderful hull only Admiralty style model, I still may yet succumb
Go for it, BE. I would love to follow along as you research and add details to this lovely model.

You've set the standard of excellence for building the Fifi and the Zulu and your build log is as good as it gets. Both are simply beautiful models with wonderful attention to detail!
Congratulations and cheers, BE, and here's wishing you a safe and prosperous New Year. Hopefully, the world will return to some sense of normalcy in 2021 sooner rather than later.
All the best,
