  1. Nicely done. Those pieces turned out perfectly, just the right amount of heat effect on them. 👍
  2. Nice work on the Second Class compartment. 😄 That Gator Glue is a good product. It's really good for gluing dissimilar materials together. It retains flexibility after it sets, unlike CA which becomes brittle.
  3. Another interesting figure. I'm in on this one , too, Alan. He sort of looks like one of the Musketeers. 😊
  4. very well done, Chris. I look forward to you next project, wherever it goes. 😄
  5. Nice to help the family realize the completion of a project their father started. And you'll have the MSW crew following along. 👍
  6. Your supposition of the aircraft is spot on, Peter. Double-check the stars and bars insignia. I think they were using a red outline in that time frame, in lieu of the red dot in the center of the star. Red dot could have been misconstrued as a Japanese himomaru aka "meatball".
  7. Excellent work with that yellow enamel. 👍
  8. Keith, Tichy is pretty reliable and the the parts are sturdy. The Grandt Line/ San Juan parts may be finer, though a little more delicate. Have patience. 😄
  9. It's a real beauty, Yves. 👍
  10. Chris, have you seen Pan Pastels: https://modelingcolors.com/ They're a powder you apply with a variety of tools, but they'll stay in place a little better than chalks.
  11. I think it's the Latin influence. I'm half Italian and I also like the red. Progressing nicely, Yves.
  12. I'll be looking over your shoulder, Dave. I have a Fokker D7 in the stash.
  13. Your leather looks real, Craig. Pretty close to an American Civil War McClellan saddle I own.
  14. Well done. Alan. I think you've overcome any limitations and turned out a quality model. 👍
  15. Mike, I'm in for this build. Very interested in your integrating this mass of detail parts.
  16. Very nice diorama, Mike. The aircraft is beautifully done.
  17. Well done, Dave. You did a great job on this iconic aircraft.👍
  18. Looking good, Mike. The spindly landing gear turned out quite nicely.
  19. Great job with the yellow, Mike. That and red are the hardest to get even coverage. 👍
  20. Really like your build, Bob. 👍 A couple of items for your painting and staining toolbox: Basswood tends to stain blotchy, so use some Minwax conditioner before staining that wood. Read the instructions on the can for timing issues. Stain before gluing. The glues we use seal the wood, so staining post gluing doesn't work well. Like Chuck says, test before doing whatever on the build.
  21. Looks good. You may want to double check where the crash netting sets up. Your recovery flight deck looks like the whole air wing is positioned on deck. The launching configuration deck looks much better.
