    I really like my micro-saw. I got it thru UMM. Fits in some tight spots, sometime better than my sprue nipper or the Tamiya nippers. Unfortunately, with these limited run kits, the sprues are thick and inconveniently located in the joint area. Wonder what the designers were thinking, doing that. Handy for removing resin plugs, too. Blue air is sometimes the only "lubricant" to get parts to slip into place.Works better that throwing it at the wall. 😉 Your Cat is coming along nicely.

    Details in the kit are super. Good magnification and lighting are a must here. I take it by reduction you are adding a thinning agent to the primer? Consistency of skim milk? Crawlers for the circus seemed to be generic Cats, without attachments.. Although I need to dig into more circus equipment diagrams. For such a wide spread activity, there isn't much pictorial history.

    That model maker was a wizard, doing that kind of work on steel molds. I can't wait to see the next installment.

    Those are superb castings; too bad many will be buried under the skin of the tractor. Starting to think this will be a "barn find" parked in an old barn and ignored for years. What do you think? I went looking for an HO version, without the dozer blade. Don't see any blades on the Cats the circuses used to load and unload their equipment flats. My quest will continue.

    EG, how recent is this kit. The reason I ask is some of the resin railroad car kit makers are working oilcanning effects into the car sides thru the 3D masters used to prepare the resin molds. These kits are about 5 or so years old, as the 3D masters have been improved. These are in 1/87th scale, HO. It's beautiful that these stressed panels show up so realistically. SDo you seal the Rubnbuff?

    Are varying the silver shades? I know toy mentioned the gunports, but would the flying surfaces be different shades?

    Well, I hope and pray it's not cancer. Good you're getting a second opinion. Labs are not infallible. If diverticulitis, no more strawberries and other foods with tiny seeds. How I know, my gastroenterologist lectures me when I get tested. I have a precursor.

    My Chevy Tahoe's spare was under the cargo compartment and had a crank inserted thru the rear bumper to lower it. I blew a tire on the Jersey Turnpike and pulled over to change it. I could not get the darn thing lowered. Turnpike road crew got me up and running. I turned the Tahoe over to my mechanic and it took him a while to get the thing working. Dumb location for the spare for any vehicle in northern climes, but the cargo box was nice sized with no spare in the way.

    I started writing my buy date on the blister pack. My only tracking method on those glues. My plastic glues have no problem, other than running out at an inopportune time, like late Sunday afternoon.

    You've done some judicious cutting out of those parts. Maybe use some strip styrene to fill in around the resin radiator? I think you nailed the wheels/pants; a little sanding on the axle nubs appears to confirm it. Nice work. 👍

    Yep, Special Hobby kits are not for the faint of heart. Short runs and tough fitting make them a challenge, but, seeing you work thru some other kits, I know you'll turn out OK. Model on, Denis.

    Probably better there than bolted onto the bow plate. Could be a weak spot in their armor. Just sayin'.

    The polyurethane is the casting resin in most kits. It's a vast improvement over earlier blends. Works much like styrene, but needs CA/super glue for cementing. Use fresh super glue. I had some old blister pack stuff from a dollar store, but who knows how long it sat. I was assembling a freight car with it and all the parts I attached would pop off as I fitted new parts. Went to my local Ace Hardware (it's close) got a tube of Gorilla Super Glue and I was back in business. The resin parts allow making short runs of parts, adding them to your basic kit, as you have here, Dennis. Have fun.
