Can i live without a BYRNES TABLE SAW
WackoWolf replied to shihawk's topic in Modeling tools and Workshop Equipment
dgbot has said it the best that can be said. Just my 2 cents worth. And yes I am a tool nut to the day I am no longer here. -
I PM you back. The Constitution Guild would be your best bet since there is nothing in RI.

I also have that one, I love it. Good choice.

A Person can have the best plane in the world, but if it isn't sharp it's not worth the material it cut off. Having a good plane is one thing but knowing how to keep it sharp is another thing. Having good tools is the right choice but knowing how to use them and taking care of them is another. Just my 2 cents.

I also have a couple of small planes from Lee Valley, they are good tools and like Bart said I thought that they were a lot until I look at other from different company's. I always remember the old saying "You get what you pay for". So i look at it this way why should I have to buy something I use twice when I can just buy it once. Just my 2 cents.

Sorry to hear after all those step it turn out to be fake. The way my right knee is I am almost sure I would not have made it all the way to the top. Wish you better luck in with the molds.

Now that was cool. But now the question is when can it use the type of wood we use, that's going to be the real test. Thanks for the link. -

Like John just said, one step at a time, slow and easy. Remember you can always do the part over if you don't like it. Nice work, second time around is paying off bit time. Good luck. Have a nice Thanksgiving.

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
